Steer clear of this sinking ship.

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsIf you have been working in the IP industry, you know that Ladas was, for many years, considered a well-respected firm. Times have changed and this firm has not kept up. Having this firm on your resume will not damage your prospects at finding another job, but don't expect it to help much either.

    ConsIn a nutshell:
    - lack of technology and lack of ability by attorneys to use basic technology.
    - this place heavily caters to a man's world. women are not respected.
    - negative environment.
    - client overbilling.
    - mismanagement between offices.
    - politics among partners are tense and dramatic.
    - staff are underpaid. for decades.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you get rid of dead weight and upgrade EVERYTHING in the office, maybe you'll have a chance at remaining competitive.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Unfortunately all the negative reviews are accurate.

    Attorney (Former Employee)

ProsThe few pros like flex time don't compare to the major career damaging negatives.

ConsDon't jump on an offer from Ladas even in this still uncertain economy. Better to wait than put this black mark on your resume because it smacks of desperation and will haunt your career.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhat does it say that over the years all the reviews are so negative?
    So what's the point.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Not a great place to work.

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Chicago, IL

ProsThere is work to be completed. The work is varied and the subject matter at times can be challenging and fun.

ConsWhere to begin? They do not know how to handle their associates. They often don't "get" how to work with their associates to maximize their abilities, but rather have idealistic notions as to what to hold their associates to which ultimately ends badly.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry to understand and remember what it was like to be an associate and not have your head far up your arse.

    Disaster

Attorney (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsTo learn the way patent and trademark prosecution works and to gain experience that will be helpful in the future.

ConsSalary is at the lower-end of the market. Benefits do not even compare with some of the benefits of other firms. Workload increases but compensation does not. Too many layoffs.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to listen better and recognize top efforts.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
