Fantastic and self fulfilling

Vice President Human Resources (Current Employee)
Paris (France)

I have been working at Lafarge full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe company cares for your wellbeing and your development. It focuses you on enablers of success rather than the pressure to achieving target. Lafarge is worth investing your career for the long term in as the business of Lafarge is equally long term

ConsDecision making may appear slow at times and the influence of French labour laws has a lot of impact in Lafarge cculture...so you may have different experiences depending on where you work in the globe

Advice to Senior ManagementPay more attention to learning local issues with emerging markets

An organisation of choice in terms of flexibility, innovation and performance.

Brand Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at Lafarge full-time for more than 3 years

ProsWorld leadership in building materials gives an unmatched edge over others, through resources, modus operandi and recognition.

ConsManagement could be bureaucratic and myopic at times, ignoring the world is not the operating areas and to most of the fellows, the brand could be nothing but another business.

Advice to Senior ManagementComparison with other organisations beyond the industry will help overcome the stagnancy, status quo and premeditated mind set of doing things.

ProsSalary is good since at the higher middle of the market - in general.

Management tries to following the management styles by the book

ConsThe old and long path for any decision making; actually no one can take any decision unless escalated to a higher level... we don't know when such decisions are made and by whom.

Steering committees/ Xcom and overall management spend too much money than the normal F.Selling & Admin expenses
