    Pros

I was consistently inspired by the students, instructors, and administrative staff. Continuing education is very well supported.

    Cons

As a part time employee with no possibility of becoming full time it was impossible to stay. Salary was not competitive with other options, though benefits were excellent. Everyone is on year-to-year contracts.

    Advice to Management

Continue supporting ancillary staff to retain quality employees, try to increase pay to be competitive with nearby institutions, no one can live in Seattle on low wages and no one will stay if they have to work two jobs.

    Pros

Everyone strives to deliver high-quality work and service to students and families, interesting student body, fair administrators. Benefits include financial support for conferences, workshops, and degree programs.

    Cons

Fast-paced work environment with high expectations can be challenging at times. Because departments are small, paths to advancement may not be apparent or available.

    Pros

Lakeside School provides the people and the resources for you to work to the best of your ability. The caliber of the people pushes you to not just complete the necessary amount of work but to go above and beyond, and the school provides the resources you'd need to do so.

    Cons

There are almost no real cons to working at Lakeside. The only thing that comes to mind is that certain procedures could've been more streamlined as there were a few hitches.

    Advice to Management

Nothing except to continue on with what's already in place.

A chance to help create a premier educational experience

I have been working at Lakeside School

    Pros

Lakeside works hard to promote a sense of community among its faculty, staff, students, families, and alumni. It provides a premier educational experience for its students, and being a part of the creation of that experience is thrilling.

    Cons

The school tends to attempt more than it can reasonably achieve, and faculty and staff are often overwhelmed by the resulting stress. It is, however, high-risk / high-reward: If you can handle working on many things at once, you will feel appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Focusing a bit more on keeping existing faculty and staff (reducing churn) would help those who do stick around spend less time on re-learning what they already learned.

Great colleagues, students, families, professional opportunities, but poor employee treatment toward loyal employees.

    Pros

Great colleagues, students, families, and professional growth opportunities. Great pay and solid benefits. Top notch school.

    Cons

Employees not rewarded for loyalty or hard work. Employees are not trusted to take personal days wisely and appropriately. You must beg and plead and be made to feel guilty for asking for a day or two off for anything other than a funeral. If you do not work full-time, you must reapply for your own job if more FTE becomes available at a later date.
