    Pros

There are great benefits and you learn a lot about thr air cargo business.

    Cons

Salary is a bit on the low side, promotions are linked to friendships with the higher ups.

I have been working at Lan Cargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

-Early access to decision making and exposure to top management. -Recent initiative to transform company culture. -Robust plans for the future -Nice staff travel benefits (after 6 months) -People are always eager to explain/teach -Interesting to learn about market dynamics

    Cons

-LOW pay -Low bonus ($0 in 2014 and expect the same for 2015) -Very unprofessional industry with archaic systems. Air cargo is nothing like passenger cargo -Gained experience is very particular to lagging air cargo industry and will be difficult to translate into competencies within other industries. -No career development program -No leadership development program -Internal promotions are seldom accompanied by salary increase of more than 10% -International employees subject to visa status for too long (6+ years to start talking about residency.

    Advice to Management

It's urgent to introduce a career development program. Next to it you should review wages in order to attract, develop, and keep the best talent.

    Pros

Be part of a Big Company with Benefits.Payment is just OK,low compared other Cargo Freigters If you are just starting out in the aviation cargo industry this is the place to get experience

    Cons

Lots of little things that you need to pay attention to. One little error can turn out to be a huge problem for the company so for you can be stressful.Tons of Memos and new procedures every week to remember. All of the good people leave soon Little chance of growth

    Advice to Management

    No Advice.Nobody Cares .Is Hopeless.

I worked at Lan Cargo full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Offer good training and a good place to start getting experience.

    Cons

Doesn't have any set pay scale is mostly based on who you know and where you are from what defines your pay, overall very low. Benefits are not good and even some departments have other insurance companies and flight benefits that are not the same as those as for Maintenance , Health insurance is too expensive it only works out if you are single. Hard to grow and advance inside the company as opportunities are mostly offered to chileans and argentinians. Company Doesn't take care of real problems and discomforts that people have all they care is about how can they inprove saving more money each year, more production with less people and poor equipment, simply too cheap!!!

I worked at Lan Cargo full-time

    Pros

    - You get good tickets after 6 months in the company

    Cons

    - From the day I got in team members and superiors advised me to look opportunities somewhere else - Pay is not competitive and is very low with very little room for advancing - If you are not from Chile or Argentina there is little to none advancement in the company. - I felt like in high-school where you need to be the athlete and the person that speaks even when you don't know what you are speaking just to call attention. From the beginning of the process at the interviewing process the VP of the area I worked to the hiring manager and everyone I interviews asked if I played soccer (it turns out I don't, and I got the job but during this time I was not taken into consideration for plenty of things because I did not played soccer just like in high-school where you have the popular kids and all that drama) - Schedules are horrible you work on shifts thy are "8" hours but you usually work from 10 to 12 hours every day and there are days that you do a night shift leaving at 2 am or + and you have to be back at 7 am because they put you on a morning shift and on top of that there where times where you didn't know what shift you had until the day before even in your free days. Schedules are a disorganized - There was a lot of interactions with other departments which was a good thing but there was no support from superiors in the department at the time of taking decisions therefore at the end of the day the department got the reputation that we where just spokes person from other departments and we could not make any decision

I worked at Lan Cargo full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Management is top level, great environment, great learning experience.

    Cons

Growing is related to who you know and not your skills. Way too much work load, making you hard to balance your personal life and job and a stressful place to work.

    Advice to Management

While they have a clear vision of where the company needs to go, please improve communication with people on lower levels. Many times managers want to be on top by not sharing information, so that they stay in control. Seem like many are afraid of competition.
