    I worked at Lancome

    Pros

A very strong and return client base. Though the line promotes conservative makeup trend, the quality of the product and pigmentation supported a more unique and subjective art palette as well.

    Cons

Corporate politics. Not recognizing passionate artists. Not utilizing or promoting their skilled talent. Not keeping up with stock concerns. Not ever promoting or upgrading the mens line. Not ever introducing a organic line.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to the "hired help" behind the counters. They are the pillars in which you stand. They are the closest to the clientele. They are the most informed on what the line needs, lacks, client wants, concerns. Better communication between on counter staff and corporate. An awareness that morale, dedication, passion, utilization, optimal customer service, corporate acknowledgement, they are all connected.

I worked at Lancome full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I had a great experience in learning how to coach and manage different teams. Loved Lancome and the perks that came with the job, such as free swagg. The pay was decent, plus an expense account.

    Cons

Lancome is a great company... Not so much the retailers like Macy's. Motivating Macy's employees is like trying to heard cats.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The industry is changing. If you don't evolve you"ll keep losing business. Planning more events and expecting results is not the answer.

    Pros

Nice product line, nice gratis, went to Chicago for makeup training with new product

    Cons

Numbers oriented business. More concerned about selling and making goals than forming genuine bonds with the customer. More Introductory training when beginning beauty advisor/counter manager positions would have been helpful
