    I have been working at Landair full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great rates, home every weekend or every other weekend , good equipments, really good load planning so far. Good dispatch and plenty of miles.

    Cons

    Heavy loads 90% ( 79,000 lb )of the time, a lot of live load and unload . if you choose home every weekend you will lose some of your pay check.

    Advice to Management

    I think you're doing well.

    I worked at Landair full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent starting pay. Plenty of jobs to cross-train into. Co workers are very helpful.

    Cons

    No pay increases for cross training in other jobs. No reward or incentive to go above and beyond like the website says. The two Supervisors in the stockroom are not qualified for their positions and management does not care! The good ones will be worked to death with no extra pay for their efforts except the joke of an annual increase and the deadbeats will get the same increase for doing nothing.

    Advice to Management

    Stop pretending to care about what happens and actually listen to the people who make things run so smoothly! Get rid of the dead weight in your Supervisors in the stockroom. Change the culture or you will continue to lose the good ones. Stop paying lip service on the website and put it into action!

    Because they are in growth mode a lot of people wear multiple hats

    take care of your people because you have good ones!

    I have been working at Landair full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Thankful to have a job, just wish upper management appreciated what truck drivers do everyday on the road to protect their trucks!!!!

    Cons

    They say vacation pay.... only half a paycheck. 14 hour days for $510 per week.... how can you support a family of 6? Management/dispatcher doesn't do their job in coordinating runs. Sick pay.... only half paycheck.

    Advice to Management

    Great Health insurance package, but employee pays out of paycheck which totals about 1/3 of income. Vacation/Sick pay... only receive half a check. Work your tail off being a safe driver while getting no respect from employer.

    Pros

    I'm able to get home on a mostly nightly basis. Minimum salary for weeks that you receive low miles or loads cancelled.

    Cons

    Mostly 14 hour days. Bad trip planning. Too much unpaid detention time. Sometimes have to refuse to drive vehicle in order for repairs. Overnight layovers though job was advertised home daily.

    Advice to Management

    When making policy, please communicate with employees, customers, and management, so that everyone will be on same page. Realize that you can't slow trucks down, make fuel when you say fuel, require yard checks, and other tasks and expect the same production. Realize that you have drivers with decades of knowledge about being on the road who may have ideas to offer.
