I have been working at Landair
Pros – I'm able to get home on a mostly nightly basis. Minimum salary for weeks that you receive low miles or loads cancelled.
Cons – Mostly 14 hour days. Bad trip planning. Too much unpaid detention time. Sometimes have to refuse to drive vehicle in order for repairs. Overnight layovers though job was advertised home daily.
Advice to Senior Management – When making policy, please communicate with employees, customers, and management, so that everyone will be on same page. Realize that you can't slow trucks down, make fuel when you say fuel, require yard checks, and other tasks and expect the same production. Realize that you have drivers with decades of knowledge about being on the road who may have ideas to offer.
