I have been working at Landry's part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They try to keep your hours low, so it's not a lot of work.

    Cons

Tillman is the worst person to work for. If he can take a penny from you he will. They have a lot of different programs that take money out of your check. No Benefits. You have to sell food that is high priced and low quality. You are penalized at work if you don't sell Landrys rewards cards to guest every month, which adds $25 to a guests check.

I have been working at Landry's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Meal discounts for all concepts under Landry's, competitive pay,

    Cons

Corporate management (Regional) is lacking in abilities to help lead the management team along with having inabilities to be able to find proper solutions or moving forward on requests, pretty much non-existent unless you are being given goals and given speeches about doing better sales. Goals are set unreasonably high (20k-50k more than prior year for a specific month), lack of bonus availability. There is also a lack of career opportunities which is weird for such a big company.

    Advice to Management

Get better corporate directors that are more hands on and are not as detached to the positions they are overseeing, the business is constantly changing and having someone who has been detached to positions for a decade doesn't understand problems that are current or updated solutions.

    I worked at Landry's full-time

    Pros

Large company with opportunities for growth.

    Cons

Landry's "nickels and dimes" their employees for everything they can.

    Advice to Management

Management needs a complete overhaul. There are quite a few immature people in positions of power that should not be.

    I worked at Landry's full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great organization with set systems in place. POS system and inventory tracking great. Great place for a new manager or chef to get started.

    Cons

Team members grow weary of the constant push. If suggestions are brought up or any grief they accuse you of playing the victim. They do not care about retaining their management team. No work-life balance. They do not seem to understand they would get greater productivity out of their managers if they had more supervisors and support staff within the venues.

    Advice to Management

Support your General Managers. Give them the people and tools they need to succeed. This includes adequate time off and work-life balance. Demands and boasts of a high-standard culture, but does not have a hospitality-minded culture at the BOH and within senior management.

    Pros

50% off all restaurant....oh wait we have to pay for that

    Cons

You pay for your own fountain drinks and discounts, most managers are not experienced and do not respond to change.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be professional, don't look so cheap the employees and the guest. Stop counting straws...literally!!!

    Pros

A lot of turnover so it's possible to move up in the company. Good coworkers.

    Cons

Horribly mismanaged (from the top) company. Very few benefits to employees. Questionable business practices. Has faced and continues to face lawsuits for good reason.

    Advice to Management

I don't believe Landry's cares at all about anything other than the bottom line, including any advice I might have.
