    Pros

You at least have a job. I feel as though they try to keep their employees happy with a gym in the office building, offering reduced lunches and discounts at the various Landry's properties, but at the end of the day it is a 'real' job and I feel as if those things are truly overrated.

    Cons

Salary Pay is too low, parking is horrible, parking security, boring as ever, all you do is type e-mails back and forth for 8 hours, etc. The parking is an issue and if you park in the wrong stop your own employer puts a sticker on your window warning you to not park there again. The sticker is damaging to your car. I feel as though you should be honored that I would even show up to this horrid job and then you put a sticker on my car that now I have to take precious time out of my day to remove and I already don't have a lot of extra time due to the fact I work there all day. My supervisor was really nice and lets me off whenever I needed and all the other people are really nice but no one truly wants to be there. People literally come in on Monday morning saying how they wish is was Friday evening already. I refuse to live my life that way. So if you agree, please do yourself a favor and do something you really love. This job has low pay and is so simple a 10 yr old could do it!

    Advice to Management

Pay way MORE and make the sales positions more exciting.

    Pros

It's not that hard to get hired at Landry's - it's a revolving door so be patient and your time will come if you're looking to gain management experience with a larger restaurant management company.

    Cons

Everything. This company's problem is definitely a top down issue. With one of the most notorious owner/CEOs in not just Houston but the entire restaurant management industry, the problem trickles down. Everyone in Houston knows he has mafia ties, and he runs the company that way. There were times management at the store level had access to higher level conference calls. They actually said "we manage by fear and intimidation".

    Advice to Management

There isn't anything you can do when you have no ownership or stock in a privately owned company run by a notoriously irrational and temperamental mafia member. You're either on the inside or you won't last long.

    Pros

You can make your own schedule. Pays cash at the end of every shift.

    Cons

No room to grow. Inconsistency at the manager position. You have to be in good with them to get by with growth.

    Advice to Management

    To many to add here.

    Pros

The company is constantly growing. The people are great to work with and they make the everyday working environment enjoyable.

    Cons

There are not a lot of cons. The only things they should look at is the benefits package. It is average for such a large company.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Decent financial compensation but wasnt worth the emotional brutality going on at my restaurant.

    Cons

They shove culture down your throat and its all crap. None of the upper management follows it. Only care about money and the outward appearance. Dont care about working conditions or food/ service quality.

    Advice to Management

    Walk the walk.

    Pros

Fantastic base pay and decent bonus plan for gm km and agm. Almost always a 5 day work week. Cheap meals and lots of locations to work at if needed.

    Cons

Long hours and almost unattainable labor goals to hit every week while still trying to keep the food quality high and the kitchen clean. But it's understandable to make a profit in this tough business.
