    Pros

Good benefits. If in right department most people stay forever.

    Cons

No movement. 3rd party carrier departments are the WORST place to end up. especially in Rockford, IL office. STAY AWAY!

    Advice to Management

Managers need to be more involved in the actual job instead of vacations and online shopping. Supervisors need to not micromanage.

    Pros

If you get lucky, you can get some good customers that don't already use one of the thousands of Landstar agents which could result in decent $.

    Cons

You do all the work for less than half the pay.

    Advice to Management

Ha, like it would even be heard.

    Pros

Freedom of choosing when and where I want to go.

    Cons

They take 35% and don't do a lot for it.

    Advice to Management

Give 5% back for every 5 years of service up to 25%.

    Pros

Find Loads to go anywhere. That is about all the good I can say. If you need diesel money, the loads pay about enough to cover tractor diesel. The loads do not pay enough to cover both reefer and tractor, driver pay, equipment maintenance, etc.

    Cons

Support Staff is rude, combative, verbally attacking, argumentative. Landstar needs to automate their accounting and paperwork flow. Some drivers do have access to scanners and should be able to submit paperwork via email without a charge. Scanned documents can be confirmed and chances of getting lost in the mail are pretty null.

    Advice to Management

Support Staff need to be retrained on customer service etiquette. They are so low-class and argumentative which indicates employees are dissatisfied about where they work. They do not seem to understand the concept that each caller is a customer and they should treat callers as such.

    Pros

Pretty good benefits, strong company, good IT upper management and affordable health care if you are reasonably healthy. Quarterly bonuses based on company performance. Good work life balance and very nice office and location.

    Cons

Very strict computing environment, no access to outside email, only gives you 25MB of Landstar email storage. Pay slightly below market value. Not much room for advancement because nobody ever leaves.

    Advice to Management

    None

    Pros

Training opportunities are worthwhile and help you keep up to date on the industry. Work-life balance is great as a normal company should be.

    Cons

The benefits seem to have gotten worse over time, there is a lot of politics and scheming in upper management that prevents progress sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Get a 3rd party to evaluate your technology department(s) and determine which one is doing things properly, then have the others follow suit.

    Pros

It is a pretty good place to be, with a ton of opportunities if you're movitvated and at least a little aggressive.

    Cons

You have to go get your own customers, and some of the things they should take care of, you have to do. Pay can get to be pretty good, but it takes tome time.

    Advice to Management

Corporate should provide more support to the agents with knowing how to grow their businesses, and they really need to get up to speed with peers in the industry from a technology standpoint.

    Pros

Great coworker and company. The pay is good and benefits are also.

    Cons

Managers need training to keep the team positive.

    Advice to Management

When more than one person complain there is truely a problem.
