I have been working at Lansdowne Consulting

    Pros

The best reasons to work at Lansdowne as a younger employee is that the firm is extremely partner heavy and it is a smaller growing firm. The access you get the managing partners with 15-20 years of experience is incomparable to what you would get at a larger firm such as Bain or BCG or ATKearney. As an intern and business analyst level of client interaction and the responsibility and trust the partners placed in me has definitely accelerated my professional development. The organization is very flat the the partners are willing to be mentors for younger employees and take the time to help you adjust to consulting. There are also options for domestic travel within the US as well as international travel to the firms offices in Japan, and London, Germany.

    Cons

As with all consulting firms, travel is definitely involved. Especially with international travel it is quite time consuming and hard to create work/life balance. Adjusting to the timezone when presenting to an international client is quite difficult. This is not unique to Lansdowne but is seen at working at most consulting firms. Additionally since it is a small firm, there is no formal graphics or research department that consultants can rely on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

At this time, I do not have any advice or feedback for the leadership; however, as the firm expands in terms of number of employees it will be necessary to implement a formal training program and perhaps a formal performance review or 360 degree review program at the firm.

    I worked at Lansdowne Consulting

    Pros

Real expertise in the leadership team that is shared with the team and used to deliver high quality consulting projects. Demanding projects but real hands-on involvement from the top to the bottom of the company

    Cons

Occasions when the client could not be persuaded to commit resources to joint working, resulting in re-work when issues emerged later.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the client in the room whenever possible; it will save them money and reduce the number of late nights required by the team!
