    Pros

I enjoyed working with the customers; great place to learn the business; known within the industry as a training ground. The operations department and credit department are top notch and the only professionals within this entire organization.

    Cons

Where do I start? Management is a joke. They promote outside sales people to a position of branch manager, where profitability should be the goal. These people come from a culture of "anything for the sale" which isn't conducive for making money. These so called "managers" have NO CLUE what or how to run the branches. Plus rarely can any of them help anyone at the counter or on the phone. Complete joke. And that comes from the top; ridiculous. They have a "mission statement" that is also cringe worthy. A succession of prepositional phrases that mean absolutely nothing.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the mountains of dead weight in the corporate office.

    Pros

The work is smooth once you learn the material, and they really empower the employees.

    Cons

Minimal oversight of branch managers makes for big egos. This leaves lower ranked employees with no advancement opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your branch managers on FL don't simply recite the mission statement as another thing on their to-do list, but rather they live by it. Very little "Respecting our associates, customers and vendors" going on in Orlando. They mainly rule through fear in ORDO.

    Pros

During the busy part of the year lots of work and overtime.

    Cons

Cons were during the slow part of the year spent lot's of time sitting around or working in the warehouse.

Management, local management, made working stressful because they tried to tell you how to do your job yet they had not done it before or not licensed to do it.

    Advice to Management

Take feedback from employees and put it to use instead of letting go in one ear and out the other.

    Pros

Great family culture, lots of autonomy to take care of business. Overall I enjoyed working here.

    Cons

They over pay their branch managers and don't value the employees that are in the branches nearly enough. Since they will not step up to keep great employees when they get them it can make life tough on the rest of the branch personal. Also they require a non compete for operations managers and above.

    Advice to Management

Go out and visit your stores more. Two visits a year is not enough no matter what the branches performance is. You should be engaged with your people and customers more.

    Pros

Company founded upon great principles. Excellent benefits and decent pay. Generally a Monday - Friday set schedule. Great owner.

    Cons

Upper management is not in touch with what's happening at the store level. Mid-level managers are busting their humps trying to cover for the Mid-Uppers screw ups. Have to kiss tale in order to really be noticed.

    Advice to Management

Start digging into your stores. If you are having problems repeatedly and high turn overs (which most are), take a look at it. It's probably some of your managers oppressing the salaried workers. A great worker can easily be dissuaded to do immaculate work when a tyrant is at the helm. Wake up!

    Pros

Monday through Friday work. First shift work and decent benefits.

    Cons

It was a lot of back breaking work but they never showed any apreciation. They never gave me the promised raise.

    Advice to Management

They need two delivery guys for most of deliveries, especially big windows and doors

All about people, but watch your back if the numbers slip a little

    Pros

Pay compared to other in similar positions is good.
Employees at branch often very nice to work with, fairly professional for position.

    Cons

Not going to get you far but it's good for a paycheck
Hard work often when other employees begin to slack.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the reward system and pay because they are great.
Operations management may need a little help they seem to be free to do whatever which lead me to believe in inaccurate success.

There aren't many downsides working here at LBP. If the economy was a bit better, we would all make alot more money!
