    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Lanx full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most people are quite talented and know what they are doing. Some might spend too much time in company politics.

    Cons

Top managment do not put focus on research and development, not fully use talents and resources.

  2. Integration Difficulties

    Pros

Many employees still embody the "can-do" attitude that made Lanx a great place to work. Internal and external customer satisfaction was a priority, and still is a priority with many individuals.

    Cons

With so many changes as a result of the acquisition by Biomet, and now by Zimmer, much of that "can-do" attitude was lost to a "we don't do it that way" attitude (with very little knowledge of why).

    Advice to Management

While it is easy to say that following an acquisition, the best of both companies will be retained, the acknowledgement of the influence of history and biases is critical to actually meeting that objective.

  5. Helpful (1)

Lanx is in a declining position in a slow growth market

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Lanx full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great technology team / leadership focused on patient-centric development. That's about it unfortunately.

    Cons

    1. Constantly dealing with the legal process, royalties/payouts/loses increasing. 2. Poor Senior Management team - if you really look at this team, the CEO has no experience with a company like this or in this market. The Finance VP is outmatched against stronger peers and the company is in a constant flux of turnover (Poor HR Management). 3 Strikes.... 3. The talent does not exist today to take the company public, so the only exit strategy is acquisition by a larger entity.

    Advice to Management

Advice to the Board - Re-Evaluate the company leadership as there should be a number of red flags. High turnover, constant litgation (internal and external), poor customer perception of the company, which should lead you to clean house and bring in a team more focused on building strong relationships (Physician, Distributor, Hospital).

  6. Good company, some challenges, but overcoming them

    Recommends

    Pros

New leadership, conscious of family time. Lanx is a highly motivated company who desires to go public. They have increased their efficiency by hiring more competent leadership in the past year.

    Cons

They tried to expand too rapidly before , which allowed holes in the management chain and of day to day operations.

    Advice to Management

Now that competent leadership is in place, try not to expand beyond critical mass. Maintain a JIT SCM with product and adapt quickly to customer needs.

  7. Started out as a great company but then lost its way
