    I have been working at Larsen & Toubro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1.) Salary is best in the construction industry for beginners. 2.) Perks and emoluments are sufficient to give your family a moment of joy.

    Cons

    1.) You don't get time to lead a cheerful life on the hard earned money. 2.) Your family enjoys, or may be not (in true sense), because you spend 13 to 14 hours daily at the construction site. 3.) Even if you are forced to work on Sundays, you are not allowed to compensate the leaves. 4.) The middle management is occupied by highly inefficient and ineffective people who are obstinate to the core. 5.) No more than 5 to 6 new comers catch up with a leader, but most of you will find your managers demotivating. 6.) Roles and responsibilities are not defined so you may not like the idea of doing just anything and everything. 7.) There is no transparency in the proceedings related to performance linked rewards. 8.) The biggest drawback is that you will be distressed due to the bad environment which is not at all professional. 9.) Human resources team dances to the tune of bullies. 10.) If you love your family and friends, don't join this company.

    Advice to Management

    1.) Define roles and responsibilities of every employee in the organisation clearly. 2.) Don't spend hefty amounts on leadership programs for managers. Screen their profiles before preparing the final list. And remember, leaders are born and not made. Instead, train the highly skilled junior level managers or employees to make them capable of handling global competition. 3.) If you are concerned about the future of L&T, groom GET's, 90% of whom leave the company simply because the middle management can't digest their competence and intelligence level. 4.) Diploma engineers should never be given bigger roles. They are the ones who have spoiled the environment because of the narrow minded ideology and inability to think and act. 5.) Try to clean the environment where performance rating is given on the basis of extra hours spent by the employees and not on productivity. It has become a tradition at L&T that people stay for long hours at site and do absolutely nothing. Hence, working hours shall be defined. If work has to continue for 24 hours, shifts shall be assigned to the employees. But each shift shall not exceed 8 hours in any case. The ones staying for long hours shall be demoted instead. Focus shall be on productivity and effectiveness of an employee. 6.) You take pride in ethics of the company, but in real sense, you are the most inethical organisation in the country. You don't treat girls equally. It has been predetermined that girls can't work at site because they are not physically strong. Who are you to decide it ? Leave it on the girls to decide that what they want and what not. Give equal opportunity to girls. I abhor the ideology of the senior level managers for this.

    Pros

    Good Salary comparatively to other Construction Companies Extra Benefits like House Accommodation,Travel Arrangements are given by company It helps you with the experience of dealing with worst case scenario managers Job Security.No much how incompatible you are,yo will be safe with your job.

    Cons

    1. If you are a G.E.T i will highly recommend you not to join this company.Simply put this is a company for Diploma holders. 2. The management especially at sites are narrow minded, stubborn and without any creative ideas. 3. Transparency throughout the company is poor. 4. No concern about the productivity.There only criteria of judging an employee work is by how much time he stays at the office. 5. Performance related Rating is a total sham.No one gets rating according to their work.The only parameter for good rating is you should listen to your boss no matter he is right or wrong. 6. Human Resource is incompetent.

    Advice to Management

    1. Try to make a healthy environment. 2. Working hours should be reduced from 12 hours to 8 hours. 3. A thorough feedback of Senior managers should be taken from their sub-ordinates. 4. Try to bring in good managers.The managers right now are just not capable.

    You will get salary 28th of every month

    Cons

    1. Its a fraud company 2. Never join this company 3. Last year L&T hired 1200 GET's out of them half of the GET's left within 6 month's ??????, may be something is wrong in the system. 4. During joining HR told that they will give location according to your preference but its totally opposite. 5. If you know flattery (In hindi chamchagiri) then only you are able to survive in this company. 6. HR are saying that after one year you will get 23 paid leaves, but in reality these PL's you have to spent within one month. In reality until you spent two years you have 0 leave. 7. Join this company if you have experience more than 15 years, if you joined as fresher your career will be finished especially in buildings and factories. 8. During orientation program they keep are saying that people are our assets but in reality people are like c... use and throw. 9. Until unless you do not have any godfather here you will not get transfer.

    Advice to Management

    1. Please give us location according to our home location. 2. Don't destroy young engineers career by cheating them, they will lose their confidence.

    no time for your self. 8 am to 12 pm work hours

    Great learning for junior guy as they are given the work beyond their maturity level

    Cons

    High attrition of good talent in mid level positions is causing the performance. And quality of project delivery to suffer

    Hike pay to match market competitive pay

    Pros

    new technology to learn. Except this nothing is there. Any ways new technology you can learn in any company

    Cons

    L&T IES and L&T Infotech is different. Do not join IES ever, You will spoil your carrer . No growth, no Hike, No culture, Only pressure. -You have to stay day and knight i.e. 24 hours most of the day. what work they are doing i donot know. -Most of the projects getting shutted down. Waste company this IES is. Never join this Company, You may join Infotech.

    No management at all. - Managers think employees as peons.

    Pros

    U get to learn a lot...lot of field exposure...no sacking even if mistakes r committed

    Cons

    Low salary..For senior engineers it's in 30ks. .For GETs its 25k. ..working hours average is 17 hours if placed at site...pathetic politics..

    Advice to Management

    Please understand the mindset of the current generation...u all have gone old..let the new generation take control of things...have proper resource allocation. .and last of all...think we engineers as humans not slaves to work under u all

    Salary is ok for freshers, perks are good

    Cons

    no work life balance. If you got posting in site no life to be frank.

    Advice to Management

    Know your people and utilize them well. Managers should be trained and they have to behave like managers. Almost no training.

    You will not get fired. Ever

    Cons

    Layers and layers of hierarchy. Old people with old ideas. No place for young, fresh engineers. Growth is incredibly slow. Compensation is below market rates

    Advice to Management

    Pay well and give the young and middle managers the chance to grow fast.
