  3. Development

    Pros

The company always has a lot of work out in front of them

    Cons

The Development side of the company is run by Ex-Disney employees. They have NO clue when it comes to understanding the gaming industry. Everything is process driven rather than by common sense. The development executives are arrogant. Sheldon Adelson needs to wake up and hire folks who have development experience in the gaming industry.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the Disney idiots.

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits. Highly recommend.

    Cons

Corporate side is a bit challenging. The property side is better fit for technical candidates.

    Advice to Management

Corporate department is not in touch with employees but property side is much better. Excellent pay and benefits and a high reommendation.

I worked at Las Vegas Sands full-time

    Pros

The silver lining for this company is that they have the most up to day technology, they just never use it to its full potential so I kind of really doesn't matter. If you come from outside the company they will pay you a really high salary too. Plus if you want to go international in Gaming this is the best place to do it since they are the best internationally. Best benefits in town as well.

    Cons

The place operates in a perpetual state of fear. The CEO micro manages everything and everyone is scared they could get fired if they rock the boat too much. Also promotions aren't ever really dependent on work output, just solely friends in high places. Also you almost never need proof to go with an idea which is why if you want an Analytics career your best to just get some experience here if you have to then just leave somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Stop purging your HR department every other year and come up with a cohesive corporate structure. This still place operates a huge "mom and pop" operation and it's hurting moral and career growth.

    Pros

Good growth opportunities, possibility of moving between different properties in Las Vegas, PA, Macau and Singapore

    Cons

Lot of slave drivers. No work life balance. There is always talk of work life balance, but that's just lip service.

I worked at Las Vegas Sands full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The BEST BENEFITS on the strip! There is absolutely NO employee contribution at all regardless of the family size. This is because Sheldon Adelson spares no expense to keep the Union out! So enjoy the benefits

    Cons

The IT Department is toxic, hostile and overly political. They repeatedly re-org and burn and churn through team members in order to give them shareholders the illusion of more revenue. They repeat the same vision with every new CTO/CIO. I've personally seen it done 3xs prior to my final resignation. #ApplyAtYourOwnRisk!

    Advice to Management

Handle team members with care instead of treating people like a commodity
