    Pros

Great people to work with (actually met my significant other working there) and a pretty cool college/high school job. You get free passes and there are a lot if team building outings and game nights. I made a lot of good friends and it was generally easy work. Definitely helped with my public speaking and social anxiety.

    Cons

Compensation is not NEARLY enough for what you are expected to do. Not much room for growth, though they say they only promote from within. Management plays favorites a lot. Parents tend to dump their kids and expect staff to take care of them all day. TERRIBLE p.o.s. System, as in runs on windows 95 still uses floppy disks terrible. Nightly paperwork was a nightmare for management.

    Advice to Management

Home office needs to be in touch with today's youth more, they are still living in the 90s (technology, training, and advertisement) the general idea is fun and kids love it but the overall experience for a customer is lacking.

    Constant multitasking work.

    Pros

You gain experience in many different tasks. Speaking to a live audience helps break the intimidation and shyness. You develop a responsibility which can help you open doors for management level work.

    Cons

Due to the constant multitask workload, there are lots of room for error the way the system is ran here.

    Pros

A fun and high paced environment. Most LQ crew members are friendly, and get along. Our center frequently has staff game nights, staff outings, and other events to get everyone together. The job is taken seriously, although everyone still enjoys themselves while on the job. Great culture.

    Cons

Management can focus on the smallest issues sometimes (like handing the game cards in different orders, forcing you to say things certain ways, etc.) Customers frequently come in to play while under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or will feel entitled. Home office has a terrible philosophy when it comes to advertising. Laser Quest believes solely in word of mouth advertising, which is an impractical method in today's world.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging experienced crew members. Don't make promises you can't keep. Laser Quest management can sometimes be really shady and deceptive towards crew members, and will hide relevant information that may be necessary for the crew to know.

    Pros

Well the pros are that it is a good college job and pretty relaxed environment if you are serious about your career don't take this job too seriously.

    Cons

Bad work life balance, horrible pay, no lunch breaks for management you have to eat and work, no breaks at all during your shift especially on a busy weekend. Nearly impossible to get promoted in a quick time you have to work years just to get a simple promotion to management not worth the time.

    Advice to Management

Don't take your job too seriously because the people who are working for you are minimum wage workers so just know that you get what you pay for and you are paying the bare minimum for your employees

    Pros

Plenty of room for advancement, great training programs, and you get paid to have fun. They offer a competitive salary.

    Cons

The only down side is the inconsistent schedule. This being said, the hours are great but the days your work can vary from week to week.

    Advice to Management

The only advice that comes to mind is to offer more incentive to the part time crew members, they seem to lack the needed motivation to want and build the business.

    Pros

It's a fun job when you're working by yourself. It's easy to pick up and if you're a fast learner, you'll pick it up pretty fast.

    Cons

-Minimum wage. -Poor hours. -RUDE management. -NO communication. -Have zero respect for their employees. -Promote the most under-qualified employees to managers because they HAVE to promote from within, rather than hiring from outside. -They don't understand why their turnover rate is so high when they treat their employees like dirt. -If you're "too good" at your job, you'll be reprimanded repeatedly for being "too efficient" because it makes the employees who have been there longer than you "feel uncomfortable". -They don't value good, honest, hard-work. -Management gossips like a bunch of old ladies.

    Advice to Management

Raise your wages, teach your centers to hire better employees, and stop expecting us to go the extra mile when you tell us that we aren't supposed to do ANYTHING without first clearing it with a manager.

    Pros

High energy and fun environment when everyone is in a good mood Good work life balance (if you have a competent team) You have the chance to work with some excellent young people

    Cons

Communication between departments isn't very good and too much gets thrown out all at once. Not a ton of support from the company when doing sales Upper level/Senior Management doesn't always know what is going on within the centre
