    Pros

Great team of people who enjoy coming to work each day. The opportunities for career development, including CPE, are second to none. Work/life balance is taken seriously and is much appreciated by employees. The firm has a good reputation in the community and integrity is top priority.

    Cons

Every public accounting firm has busy seasons, but LBMC handles it well. Time off during non-peak times is encouraged.

    Advice to Management

Continue to offer training and mentoring opportunities.

    Pros

These are smart, well connected people who know how to make money and maintain a high quality of life.

    Cons

Because this is a CPA firm mentality, everything evolves around the billable hour. It is just part of the culture. They are not abusive to their customers, it is just another thing you have to manage as an employee.

    Advice to Management

Be careful about who you bring in to lead others.

  3. If you work hard and do a great job, LBMC will reward you.

    Pros

The employees are enabled with the latest technologies. There are very unique opportunities to meet and work with different people since LBMC consists of 8 different companies. Accounting is the core, but the other companies include Technologies, Human Resources, Staffing, Healthcare Consulting, Managed Security Services, Investment Advisors, and Planning Services.

    Cons

If you don't like to work hard or put forth a little extra effort to do a great job, then LBMC is not for you. If you just want to work an 9-5 job to pass the time and draw a paycheck, you will NOT be happy here.

    Advice to Management

Many people work on their islands and never get off. Anything you can do to encourage and reward teamwork will make LBMC become a more desirable company to work for.

Bad Leaders in the functional areas (no communication to staff)
    Really expensive Health Insurance
Benefits not as good as other firms (especially for working mothers)
Partners do a lot of the work rather than passing down to lower level managers/staff
Some partners are very difficult to work with

    Pros

Lots of free food - has several nights of food for dinner available because everyone works so much.

    Cons

too many to name, over worked and underpaid are the main ones. Salary and raises are lower here, than at other firms. Partners are very rude and difficult work with.

    Advice to Management

Stop firing people, stop firing good people, give better raises, do not overwork certain people because that burns them out.
