    An okay job for highschool/college

Former Employee - Sales Associate in Montreal, QC (Canada)
Former Employee - Sales Associate in Montreal, QC (Canada)

I worked at Laura Secord part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

-Being around delicious treats all day (gets boring after a while though)
-Sometimes get tips from generous customers (at ice cream section)
    -30 % discount

    Cons

    -No real benefits
    -Very little encouragement (free treats)
    -Long hours standing up
-Sometimes, there is really nothing to do (often due to poor management)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Do not organize competition between co-workers for sales. The co-workers should form a team, not step on each other.

    Pros

Exceptional co-workers who are great to work with, learned alot about sales during my time there. Fast-paced environment, competitive

    Cons

I have been working at Laura Secord part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Good discount, easy work, 50% off days around the holidays, overall a fun place to have a part time job! Easy to find ways to stand out by making sure you keep the store clean, stocked and presentable. After 2 months working there I am already akeyholder and closing and opening by myself.

    Cons

You are dealing with the public directly as a csr so other than the odd complaint about the size of the scoop (which is a regulation scoop) or complaints about the prices there is nothing exceedingly difficult.

    Pros

The best chocolate and ice cream around. Amazing loyal customers.

    Cons

District managers do not listen to employee concerns. They expect far too much from sales associates and give nothing for incentives.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to what we are telling you. We are the ones that work in the store. We know what our customers want. Each store has different needs.
