Nice job for a college student

Retail Merchandising Intern (Former Employee) Dallas, TX

ProsI was a Retail Merchandising Intern for around a year. Could do as many or as little reports as you wanted. Paid well for an internship.

ConsSome months was slow to get paid. There was also a lot of turnover within the department, so since this was all virtual you never knew who was still there or to contact with a problem.

    Time Wasted

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsThe Lazard name on your resume is a plus. The fact that most people don't know the difference between Lazard and Lazard Capital Markets is an even bigger plus.

Advice to new employees: Stay for a year. Maybe two if company lasts that long. Learn what you can then move on.

ConsManaging directors running amok. Little to no oversight. An acting CEO who cared more about decorating the conference room and his office than running the company. The new co-CEOs aren't much better.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop wasting time and money poaching from other broker-dealers. Start training and promoting from within.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Smoking Mirrors

    Director (Current Employee)

    ProsGood name on the resume

ConsPeople are fooled by the name Lazard, but LCM has nothing to do with the public company LAZ. LCM is owned by the former partners. Management is still in the dark ages. The CEO's priority is on his personal kitchen and his coffee machine. There was no interaction between any of the groups, converts, fix income, equities, research etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive Up! LCM has no reason to be in business to fool the public.

    Good working environment.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsNot a ton of micro managing. Employees can get lots of responsibilities.

ConsAssociates are generally second class citizens. Long hours.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive Associates more exposure to clients and sales.

    Lots of Mindless Work

    Intern (Current Employee)

ProsGives you a nice title on your resume, but not much else. You get paid based on the completion of projects.

ConsYou never see the results of your work making it tough to be motivated. Mindless work and a very unrewarding experience. I learned absolutely nothing here.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
