Pros
Good place to learn and to get one foot in the industry. Every department is different but people are nice and it makes going into work and communicating with coworkers a lot easier.
Cons
Once again, this really depends on each department and the relations you build in it; management could spend more time communicating with ground level workers.
Advice to Senior Management
More open communication with ground level employees.
Pros
less boring then just sales
in charge
management experience
Cons
a lot is expected from you but again it can be included in pros for some
Advice to Senior Management
be professional
Pros
the snr management there is inspiring and thougful to where the company should go. they are demanding but in a good way to spark talent to react and perform. most people want to pursue excellence in all the do and it makes for some good team work.
Cons
the marketing department is a complete failure it seems - i go into stores now and then and somehow all the hard work of product teams, store teams, merchandising teams, and everyone trying to stay atop of the business and make it work gets lost - marketing can`t tell a story. cant share the direction the brand seems to be going in somehow due to lack leadership or talent. its very sad. internal communication is also not so great - yet surely if marketing was better imsure the excitment and message would be strong in all.
Advice to Senior Management
sometimes when it feels like nothing is working and you`ve looked at everything and everyone. look again. there`s something wrong. if your creating a shift in the product, the price, and your place of business as an enviroment - there needs to be a strategic plan in place to support that. or you`ll be forever handicapped. maybe its time to create a shift in marketing
Pros
Love the discount.
love the product
love the fashion trends
very up to date clothing.
love the staff that I work with in my store.
Cons
The company needs to start focusing whats sells in each store, just because something sells in toronto does not mean it will sell good on PEI. and when we want to move something around to make sales better, we should no have to email 600 people and ask if its ok.
Advice to Senior Management
if your losing so much money, you really need to hear your staff out.. and not just say that you us.. like really listen and I can bet Le Chateau will be in the + every year!
Pros
- Great discount
- Option of getting commission if you want
- flexible hours and time given off
- Cool people
Cons
- Sales targets could be brutal
- sometimes it feels like people are just a Revenue Generating Unit to meet goals
Advice to Senior Management
You need to understand that just because someone is not being hovered over while they shop we are not doing a bad job. Sometimes people dont want your help/
Pros
Enjoyed working with the customers to fulfil their needs and requirements that they came in for. making people happy was great.
Cons
Policy to work there, wages are not to be shared. This is bad because they could have many people doing the same job and not know that they are getting paid less then others there.
Advice to Senior Management
Make sure that you are getting paid what you deserve. You have to check up on your bonuses and wages to make sure they pay you correctly. They don't usually increase your wage unless you ask them for it.
Pros
Good discounts 50% not to bad.
Cons
Lack of communications between management. You will survive if you are an ass kisser. I don't have an idea who choose the management in this company. People are coming and leaving after 3 months, why?
Advice to Senior Management
Please Supervisors, listen to your regular staff, then you will be aware of their complaints!!!
Pros
you can learn a lot and then take it elsewhere; great place to make new friends and socialize.
keep upto date with fashion trends
Cons
no recognition; tons of changes with no explanation and then go back to square one... no repsect for the staff; they can achieve so much more if they would jsut listen to the great ideas of the staff.
Advice to Senior Management
listen; make people part of the team; respect the people and make them feel valued.make them feel important and treat them fairly..toomuch favoritism
Pros
- room for advancement is always there.
- most of the superior management (DMs) are quite supportive and hands on.
- if you bargain for the right volume of store and compensation you will get what you want.
- overall the commission is quite competitive on all level of staff/management.
Cons
- coaching methods, customer service standards are quite ridiculous, un-ethical.
- return/exchange policy is idiotic.
- some individuals that have been in the company for 10+ years shouldn't be employed anymore, not productive, crude, condescending and self absorbed.
- senior level management always manage to take advantage of other jr management.
- wages can be paid A LOT better
Advice to Senior Management
I would advise them to be open to constructive criticism; take action for their responsibilities. Take ownership on their mistakes and be team players all around.
Pros
Good glimpse on up and coming fashion trends.
Get to use your creative fashion sense on a day to day basis.
Get to expand your wardrobe
Cons
Way too much favouritism
The pay is borderline insulting
little to no recognition
horrible customer service policy
over priced poor quality merchandise
Weekends off are almost impossible to come by
The list goes on and on
Advice to Senior Management
Instead of recognizing those who are good at brown nosing, try and recognize those who truly know their job and are good at it.
