    Pros

    Along with friendly coworkers, the atmosphere is very positive and the location was easy on and off from the highway

    Cons

    It does involve repetitive tasks and phone calls which get real old quickly but if you set goals and keep at it, you will survive

    Pros

    It's a job and if you like the phones it's a good start.

    Cons

    A very long list. Poor Management in place. It's numbers gain

    Advice to Management

    Obliviously the company has had plenty of success - move forward and try and care more

    Pros

    Owners have a great vision of where they want the company to go.

    Cons

    The Shelton office needs a MAJOR overhaul of top management.
    The acting director has no clue how to motivate staff.
    There really is no where to move up to.
    No trust that upper management has your best interest in mind.
    Owners busy growing the business but not seeing how poor management is killing morale

    Advice to Management

    Stop making it so obvious that you play favorites.
    Owners need to change out senior management before there is no asset left to sell to potential clients. No staff, no calls get made!

    Startup feel, flexible and growing, work-life balance is good

    Cons

    pay is low, work gets intense sometimes.

    Overall, if the pay were higher and there were more incentives to stay long term, then this would be a company that people would invest many more years into

    Pros

    Flexible work hours; if you need help or have any questions, there's always someone around to ask; if you're someone who likes to work alone, as opposed to with a team or partner, this is the job for you!

    Cons

    The amount of phone calls that you are asked to make per day are completely unreasonable!!!

    New employees should be given more time to increase the amount of calls they are able to make.

    Pros

    As most people said, you get good work-life balance (sometimes you do have to stay late) and you get a lot of responsibility. Pay is not top tier but very fair and strong performance is rewarded. Initial pay was a little low, but after a year, the pay does bump up (after proving ROI in a way :P). The company is maturing quickly and is balancing start-up agility with corporate best practices. Management does take into account feedback and it's become a better place to work - formal review cycle and career track, biweekly training sessions with lunch, and snacks are refilled more often :)

    High level of competence definitely pulls people up to do better and the expectation to continue to optimize and help out your client teams can serve as the training grounds to build an incredible foundation in paid search.

    Cons

    Benefits could be better - the company contribution as well as the provider. Because Leadqual has a CT provider for insurance, it's harder for people in Emeryville to find people who take our insurance.

    Formal yearly review also incorporates raises so there are no raises off cycle (which would be luxury). There are bonuses though that are sprinkled here and there. Those are pretty sweet.

    Could hire more people, but I heard that's something they're working on.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to reward the performers, both verbally and financially. Moving in the right direction in terms of expectations and training.

    Pros

    better pay than retail, managers are nice/helpful, able to work overtime/weekends if you want

    Cons

    Only $12/hr, sitting in front of a computer for 8 hrs straight, expected to make 200+ phone calls a day on behalf of insurance companies and universities

    Advice to Management

    increase pay or allow for more breaks... the amount of calls that need to made are exhausting for 8 hrs straight, burns your eyes

    Pros

    You learn a lot right out of the gate with lots of responsibility. Very quickly you are relied upon to do the work yourself with not a ton of guidance (which I like). Others may find that a difficult environment.

    Cons

    Work can get repetitive, but I do have a few different clients so that helps. As I said above, not a lot of training, however, they just started a more formal training program.

    Invest more in training.

    Pros

    A laid back place to work. Great co-workers.

    Cons

    Not much in creative or design work. More of a marketing chop shop, where the employees are paid poorly and expected to provide top level SEO. Emphasis is on making money and not much in creativity.

    Advice to Management

    Pay your employees well and take more chances with design that could pay exponentially in the future.

    Pros

    Good hours (40-45 max), you get to sit in a cushy chair (if you like that), and a VERY fun group of young people. Also, free snacks, bagel Fridays, a foosball table, and video games for breaks.

    If you do have to work late, you get a free $10 dinner.

    Some employees do end up at Google, but they're still in search engine marketing-related jobs.

    Cons

    Extremely boring work, not a lot of opportunity afterwards, no real sense of accomplishment. Pay is only OK, and fringe benefits are minimal.

    Advice to Management

    More budget for snacks, we run out too quickly. Initiate some kind of 401k/matching plan. Develop a clear promotion system with formal reviews.
