    Pros

Coworkers are family Great system who listens to front line staff to improve processes or issues Great benefits Great hours

    Cons

Pay is not competitive Not enough credit given to supervisors No other health system in Lee county

    Pros

Job Security Good Benefits Good Pay In general, good people to work with (this can be dependent on which department you work in, though; I was lucky to have a solid, but small, team to work with)

    Cons

Ridiculously understaffed and overwhelmed during season. Too many middle-management/administration employees who have not had the experience in direct patient care. For some reason, decided against opening a facility in the rapidly-growing Estero/Bonita Springs area.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of some of the unnecessary bean counters, and hire more PATIENT CARE STAFF. Open an additional facility in Estero/Bonita Springs, it is desperately needed. Gulf Coast Medical Center is going to be a horrendous place to work when it is 600+ beds.

    Pros

The hours/ benefit , the training in the past was very good, the standard hours are a plus.

    Cons

Pay rate, pay raises are not the best. The shift differences haven't changed in years.

    Advice to Management

    Increase technician pay

    Pros

Great company; pro-nursing. Compensation package was great. Surrounding beautiful. Location was convenient...worked at Health Park.

    Cons

The ER was super busy because of the seasonal influx of visitors in the winter. Had to put beds in hall of our unit to accommodate overflow.

    Advice to Management

I have nothing to offer management. I was very happy working there and would return when my life circumstances change.

    Pros

Lee Memorial embraces its employees like family. Everyone is very professional and positive. I was there briefly as a temp and would love to work there as a FT employee

    Cons

The required shots is the only thing I can think of, I don't like shots.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work

    Pros

I wish I could say the benefits were a pro. I can't even say that. I honestly have no pros to report.

    Cons

Too many middle management in this company. In addition, they all have different ideas on how to run the place, so you get pulled in a million different directions. Health benefits are expensive and hardly anything is "covered." Only game in town. So, if you mess up here, forget it. You're driving an hour north or south to get a job.

    Advice to Management

Try to include your staff more. Oh, and that empowerment class isn't helping anybody. All of your nurses still treat new nurses or nurses new to the unit badly.

    Pros

Some very nice knowledgeable people Good benefits Great location in SWFL CEO really cares about everyone

    Cons

Too many initiatives. Some long term term employees have never received discipline and are not necessarily valuable to the team. Pay is at median rate

    Advice to Management

The health system has grown substantially over the last few years. I wish there could be less initiatives pushed at the exact same time. Just not enough time in the day.

    Pros

Awesome staff and leadership, especially with a new and upcoming department that gives nurses another option for work. Willing to invest in staff to train in new areas as well as train up to leadership positions. Willing to listen and implement staff ideas. Very supportive atmosphere.

    Cons

I do not have any cons to report

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!!
