I have been working at Lee & Associates full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Best Pay: You are paid your commission gross less the operating expenses you incurred. Nothing could be fairer.
As a Principal you as a partner determine who manages the office and the services that are to be used.
Lee is a national company with 55 offices and growing at a rate of 3 to 5 per year.

    Cons

We have national coverage but additional offices would help us penetrate smaller cities.

I worked at Lee & Associates part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

If you fit in and consistently close deals, you'll have a great deal of freedom and autonomy.

    Cons

Generally hostile environment and an old-boys club if there ever were one. Women will be asked for "a female perspective," if their input is requested at all. And if you are looking for other people of color, don't bother. The concept of "team" is nonexistent: some partners are willing to mentor you and others will accuse you of stealing deals. Staff are paid well under market (it shows) and have to beg for benefits.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage local offices to bring the company's culture into the 21st century, and to bring more women and people of color into the company.

    Pros

A fun place to work with really nice people. Work was easy and very clear.

    Cons

Not a lot of advancement, marketing is a lit of a solo department but brokers were easy and fun to work with.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe a career path for younger folks, help give a little direction.

I worked at Lee & Associates as an intern

    Pros

    - Access to Senior Management
    - Lots of Mentoring on the job
    - Flexible with schedule
    - Great learning experience

    Cons

    - Low Pay
    - Lots of cold calling
    - A bit unorganized

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall, it was a good experience for a Summer Internship in RE Brokerage. Definitely learned a lot and bonded with fellow employees. While flexible with schedule I worked very hard and fairly long hours. The compensation was not adequate for the amount of work I was putting in. To attract young talent management needs to increase compensation.
