I worked at Legal Sea Foods part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    * Great menu, care for customers with food allergies * Management encourages tastings which helps with menu familiarity * If your coworkers are supportive and fun, work is a blast!

    Cons

    * All depends on your manager * Salary * Some kitchen staff is inconsistent with food presentation and other skill level

    Advice to Management

Micromanagement leads to dissatisfied employees and customers.

    Pros

The food quality was fantastic. Very high cleanliness standards

    Cons

Rules on rules on rules. I have worked for other corporate restaurants and this was by far the most corporate. Side work was a nightmare.

    Advice to Management

Ease up a little bit and have faith in new staff members.

    Pros

A company with wonderful food and service, which trains all employees from servers to high level managers in the art of Customer Service.

    Cons

Too many layers of management! Because each restaurant has a group of managers mixed with the corporate management team it feels as thought here are never ending hoops to jump through.

    Pros

Great general manger and staff, good money, across street from metro, fairly expensive menu.

    Cons

Foreigners who don't tip. No gratuity on large parties. Open too late at night.

    Advice to Management

    Continue doing what your doing.

I worked at Legal Sea Foods full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - The best product out there-- Makes it really easy to upsell! - Top of the line sanitary practices, I would eat off of the floor. - Excellent training/education programs, a good place to work if you are hungry for knowledge about fine dining.

    Cons

Specifically to the Chestnut Hill location: - The clientele is exceptionally difficult to serve - Some of the hires are questionable. Seems to be a revolving door.

    Advice to Management

Be more selective about who you hire. Negative people are toxic.

I worked at Legal Sea Foods part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Organization is key in places that I work. Paychecks are come on time, managers really have to know their material. Training program is very efficient.

    Cons

At my particular location, it was very bias and racist. They like to make it seem like they doing a lot to try to help, but in reality they make situations bigger than they need to be.

    Advice to Management

    Lacking professionalism

I worked at Legal Sea Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Company to work for. Enjoyed working with my managers and meeting new people. Excellent environment, great staff and amazing food. Half off the food when you work there even on your days off.

    Cons

Corporate environment, not a lot of change. Must follow their rules, and if they don't like you, or if you don't do your job well, then will fire you. Awful uniforms and very long hours due to the amount of side-work you have.

    Advice to Management

Nothing! I loved working with my Managers in Braintree. Even though they were strict, as long you follow their rules, they will like you and eventually move up in the Company.
