    Pros

Located in a small city. No heavy traffic in route to company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Overall Legrand provides an opportunity to work with great people, is a friendly place to work.

Like many companies, each person has a lot on their plates. There is never an opportunity to be bored at work. Not necessarily a bad thing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Very profitable and global company (presence in 70 countries, 40% of total revenues in the new economies)
Can offer a long-life career for those who fit the DNA of the company

    Cons

Autocratic management that hampers diversity in minds and actions and leads to inefficient politic games
Showcasing long working hours (7am-10pm) is a must and a necessity considering endless and inefficient meetings (old-fashioned management style, still ruled by strict hierarchy rather than collaborative relationships, thus impeding the contribution of each individual - awkwardly French from the past century!)
Overall low qualified managers as a consequence of a low training policy: seniority privileged over skills - patience will be rewarded more than talent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Align management with external communication: in brief, walk the talk, beyond financial expectations and mind the gap!
Be innovative rather than conservative: incremental innovation will not suffice in a fast-changing world and the company is definitely not ready for disruptive innovation, both in terms of technologies and business models. The recent acquisition of Nest by Google has been disparaged by the CEO, who claimed no impact on the present business model.
Lean does not mean mean: as for example, trainings are not just another expense.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice
