    Pros

Excellent professional staff of engineers geologist and support staff

    Cons

Very poor compensation for support staff, no recognition for good work or effort by top president

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove the top president. He is only a CFO type, poor people skills

Great experience, but potential for advancement is very limited and seemingly restricted.

I have been working at Leighton Group full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent learning and mentoring from senior staff. A great stepping stone for engineering and geology professionals. Corporate leadership has great vision and adapts well to technology. Has great reputation in the industry with many long term client relationships.

    Cons

While corporate leadership has great vision, it is often short sighted, If you are not a professional (engineer/geologist) there is little to no room for advancement regardless of education and experience. Personal growth is not encouraged and employee achievements are seldom recognized. Local office leadership is very limited and constrained by corporate.

Compensation is stagnant and is below industry averages. Company culture is top heavy and not employee-centric.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees rather than dictate to them. Do not hold grudges against those who challenge you, rather question and challenge yourself to understand the frustrations and challenging situations you have imposed on them.

Recognize and reward your employees. Encourage personal and professional growth via education and promotions that do not force financial sacrifices.

    Pros

Employees are valued by the company. Great opportunities to advance your career. Very flexible with work and home life
Overall thouroughly enjoyed my time with Leighton

    Cons

Very poor ratio of female management. All senior managers that I have come into contact with are male and I do not anticipate this changing any time soon.

    I worked at Leighton Group

    Pros

Cyclical business and when the business is good you can be rewarded for hard work. Projects are fun and interesting.

    Cons

If you have experience it helps to be an independent worker, because not much time or effort is invested in employee training. Planning and preparedness are sometimes not a priority.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in inexperienced employees training and encourage continued training. Offer more employee incentives. Drop billing rates to become more competitive and provide room to train.
