    Pros

Used to be full of brilliant people, but these have gradually been weeded out to be replaced by faceless corporate androids. There are a few left, but they'll probably migrate to rival companies My previous managers were very flexible with time off (not that I ever had any). Apparently, maternity benefits are quite generous.

    Cons

They claim to be strong on trust and integrity, but you would find more evidence of these qualities within FIFA and the Kremlin. Head office is an anonymous steel and glass structure - not very inspiring. Very limited training and promotion opportunities. Poor management,; they spend most of their time in meetings looking at KPI charts.

    Advice to Management

Management need to look back at the way Bovis Construction operated and learn about integrity.

    Pros

some great people with very good experience
    good personal development programme
    good training
    very professional culture
    nice central working environment
    good expressed values
    strong current pipeline of work

    Cons

    a lot of staff churn
    some mis-judged hires
    senior leadership churn
everything cascades down from Sydney office - UK is restricted
not very diverse - a young office

    Advice to Management

    don't fixate on hierarchies
the culture is not very diverse
could be said to be ageist
don't always start from scratch again - look at building on what is there - more economic

    Pros

Some of the most interesting and challenging construction projects in the World. Blue-chip clients. The ability to make a difference to the construction / property industry by putting ideas forward

    Cons

As with any construction / property firm in the UK we'd always like to win more work

    Pros

Lend Lease had a positive and supporting culture and some of the talented people from that era survive.
The company has some good projects

    Cons

There is a blame culture, driven my senior management.
Some business units still suffer from discrimination and bullying behaviours.
Very limited projects within the European business so difficult to gain experience or progress career.
Pay rises and bonuses after joining do not keep up with the market.
All decisions need to go through bureaucratic process via Sydney which leads to talented staff transferring to Australia or leaving the business.
The organisation is very inwardly focused and business units will compete to apportion blame rather than find a solution to an external problem.

    Advice to Management

Trust local management to make decisions and win new business, and give them the authority to reinvigorate and grow the company.

    Pros

The sustainability culture and access to personal development courses is good. The salaries are good and benefits are very competitive.

    Cons

There is a tired old team of power hungry people however lacking transferable skills as many have stayed at th company for years. The company pays it's old timers way too well which enviatably men's they don't move on. Internal roles are filled through favourites who don't necesarily have the skills to do the job.

    Advice to Management

Leave and experience something different and a massive restructure is required especially in Finance. Look at the skills that your workforce have to promote them not to your drinking buddy!

    Pros

Unfortunately a great former company Bovis destroyed by Lend lease who purchased it, no company values ad people treated with very little respect

    Cons

None I can think of upon leaving

    Advice to Management

A toxic culture of preaching values but practicing none has lead to most the good staff leaving

    Pros

Incredibly talented people, genuinely concerned about its people, passionate about sustainability, health and safety, lives true to its culture and values

    Cons

Rudderless and leaderless in Europe, doesn't understand its clients, strengths and weaknesses anymore, lost (or never had) it's ability to win work in competition, too many new chiefs and everyone wants to stamp their authority or vision on the company, Australia centric

    Advice to Management

Continuity in leadership, still hasn't got rid of some very bad managers who just think of themselves

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Working on high profile interesting projects, with some of the best people in the industry and for some of the best clients around. I get the sense there is a genuine desire here to do the right thing.

    Cons

Internal politics like many large organisations can be a drag and a barrier to getting things done sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Need to make sure they keep working their communications, keep visible and always walk the talk. IT systems and HR functions need to be improved.
