    Pros

They really put a lot into training employees and they genuinely care about their success. They know they're great at what they do and they do a good job instilling that culture into their employees.

    Cons

Some management appointments can be questionable and mobility is limited since they are not very widespread.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the excellent training practices up and consider diversifying geographically to encourage continued growth of the company.

    Pros

Lettuce is a leader in hospitality creation and development, I learned more with this company than any other time in my career.

    Cons

As with any position there are ups and downs, they aren't due to the company behaving in one way or another.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Pros

Lots of hours and they do pay on time.

    Cons

They changed peoples hours to fit their needs and the hours reported are not correctly. For example lets say u had 5 hours overtime for week 1 they would put those 5 hours on week 2 so they dont have to pay overtime. Horrible management. And they take advantage of workers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop pretending to be managers

    Pros

    Very good managers. Nice coworkers.

    Cons

Since I've started my year end salary has nose dived 5 grand each year. When I started they would say things like we don't do happy hour because we're not an applebees. Now there's 2 happy hours. one at 3 and one at 8. profits are up but tips are down. Every major change we've been doing at my restaurant has been encouraging more cheap people to become regulars.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

understand that your changes are affecting the staff and that's why so many people are leaving after many years of service.

    Pros

Great benefits, great discounts. Superior training program and introduction to the company. Tastings during training are the best part! Opportunities to move up, or change restaurants after a period of time.

    Cons

Management has a problem "cutting" servers. This is understandable at times given the high expectations of service at lettuce restaurants, yet can end up being a shift of rolling silverware for $4.25 an hour and having 2 tables on a lunch shift.

Not a bad place to work if you choose the restaurant industry.

    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Former Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Diversity of concepts wthin the brand. Compassionate culture for employees. Training.

    Cons

Horrible retirement plan with pathetic matching component, favoritism and nepotism is rampant, long tenured senior leaders stick around way longer than they should, quality of life is not important in operations, HR department has poor leadership and needs to be revamped.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Know when it's time to say goodbye to an employee or manager that is no longer effective in their role. The damage that it does to the entire organization when you don't is significant. Loyalty needs limits.
