Fantastic medical organization to work for!

I have been working at Lexington Medical Center full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Lexington has great people with a wonderful feeling of the whole organization working as a team. When issues occur, they place focus on fixing them, not placing blame.

    Cons

Despite trying, I cannot think of any cons large enough to point out – the worst that can be thought of is the 5 pm traffic surrounding the hospital, but even this is not that bad!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue keeping communication lines open between staff and top management.

I worked at Lexington Medical Center full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The personal growth, benefits, and family atomosphere..

    Cons

I can't say there is a downside but sometimes the workload can be a little hectic. But it's to be expected when you have such a high volume of traffic. It still was a great place to work.

Great opportunities for ceus and continuing education.

    Cons

Some challenges are time commitments, as far as you can run into overtime due to heavy caseload.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to your staff and take good care of your nurse techs they are most often overwhelmed.

I really feel like my manager listens to her staff and backs us up. My co-workers are fabulous. I love my unit. Lots of room for career development.

    Cons

I work on a med/surg for needles to say it can be extremely busy. Patients and their families can be a real challenge at times.

I have been working at Lexington Medical Center full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Patient care is important to Mgmt and of course the Doctors. The culture is "we are great and care for our patients"

    Cons

Look at the chairs and couches our patients sit on- stains, nasty spots. The carpet is filthy dirty. Just look at it!! I wish Management would realize that the carpet spots and furniture spots and dirty conditions 'represents' the Hospital!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make a better 'impression' to our patients and their loved ones.. Get the carpets clean! Clean the furniture! Make a better place for our patients and their loved ones
