    Pros

The benefits of working for an industry giant like LexisNexis include the ability to profit off of the interaction of multiple business elements to produce new and interesting products from individual groups.

    Cons

An overall focus from upper management on outsourcing key tasks overseas leads not only to job instability, but a certain sloppiness and inaccuracy of data as well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on employee development and less so on outsourcing.

I worked at LexisNexis Legal & Professional full-time

    Pros

Management was fair and open-minded. Very comfortable, corporate work environment. Paid time off policy where your allotted days off were lumped together so that you can decide how you want to use your vacation/sick/personal days. Good health/retirement benefits. Friendly and fair upper management. I wasn't "micro-managed" which is a big plus.

    Cons

Salary was on the low end for position. Raises/bonuses were meager for department.

    Pros

Everyone in the office was very nice and plenty of training was offered. There was also unlimited free coffee at the time!

    Cons

The main downside was that I felt there was little room advancement as I was hired through a temp firm.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would never change the free coffee policy.

I have been working at LexisNexis Legal & Professional

    Pros

Pension, health benefits, work-life balance, all excellent. Respect within senior level executives.

    Cons

Too many silos within marketing group, no formal single strategy shared across all groups

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to each level within the organization, not just from those who make themselves heard louder than others. Remove silos, believe in proj mgmt, and speak from one voice.
