Pros
Even though there is no career growth the salary is very competitive.
Cons
Constant lay offs and outsourcing.
Pros
There are some very smart, shrewd, talented people who work in marketing and product development.
Cons
There is no clear strategic plan--just reacting to what the competitor does.
Advice to Senior Management
Act like a market leader, rather than a second tear competitor.
Pros
The pay compared to similar jobs was good and the benefits package was very good as well. The company as a whole were very good to their employees.
Cons
The business practices are a little shady and the expectations are way too high for what it is. The management was not very helpful. Most of the customer service reps sought out positions elsewhere in the company, because the benefits and pay are not bad, as I stated before, but this specific division of the company was something to be desired.
Pros
Upper management has still extended themselves to me, after my employment has ended. I am still provided professional advice when I send emails; and it's true that they really care about their employees (@ the Bethesda location).
LN gave its employees a 3 month notice prior to laying off its employees (which I felt was awesome to say the least).
Cons
Being laid off after the acquisition
Pros
the people are the greatest asset. There is a lot of old school start-up people with great ideas that are ready for a challenge if they are given a chance.
Cons
lack of true product and company direction. unable to make concrete decisions and take chances in an ever changing environment.
Advice to Senior Management
listen to your employees and gather feedback from all teams to determine your product direction. It is important to have input from all areas.
Pros
Lots of room for growth, and you'll work with a lot of knowledgeable people. Things have improved greatly over the last two years, when there was a churn in senior management. It's hard to know if the new guys are listening to us, but they aren't laying off all of our coworkers, which is a huge improvement. Benefits and pay are very good, plenty of vacation time.
Cons
Understaffed. Too many temporary contractors in an environment that is just too large to learn in a 6 month contract.
Still have reorgs every year, makes us worry about longevity. Frozen salaries for the last couple of years (supposed to change this year).
Advice to Senior Management
Hire people. That's the single biggest problem we have right now. In the seven years I've been with the company, we've never had so much work and never been so shorthanded.
Pros
Flexible hours and travel can be nice
Cons
No place for growth and a lot of travel.
Advice to Senior Management
Develop a place to go not just a title promotion.
Pros
Good work life balance and decent pay.
Cons
With current strategy and approach, the company will not be able to stay competitive
Advice to Senior Management
Consider younger, tech-savy leaders. Continue to pursue digital culture transformation.
Pros
Good salary, flexibility to work remotly during bad weather.
Cons
Long Hours, poor recognition and no proffesional growth.
Advice to Senior Management
Recognize that the biggest asset is your people
Pros
Great work life balance and flexibility
Cons
low pay, very little raises, difficult to move up
Advice to Senior Management
get rid of some of the useless incompetent middle managers
