I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Liberty is a great place to work if you are looking for stability, reasonably good pay, and aren't overly eager to take on more responsibility. They have decent benefits, and a truly excellent work/life balance (seriously - I cannot remember the last time I worked more than 40 hours in a week).

    Cons

If you are a truly career-oriented person, I would not recommend Liberty for the long-haul. In order to really move up the ranks, it seems like someone has to be fired or retire. And once in a blue moon when higher-up positions (director and up) do open up, it seems like Liberty prefers to hire from outside the company, rather than promoting from within.

I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance

    Pros

    LM was great:
    Good Pay
    Very Talented People
Buttoned up culture (which maintained professionalism)
Lots of love for high performers
    PENSION!

    Cons

The acquisition of Safeco (and the subsequent integration) was brutal. I expected it would be though as the cultures weren't great matches. It made for some uncomfortable interactions.
The employee reimbursement for education was ok. It could have been much better though. It's nice that they offered it though.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on doing what you're doing.
