Current Employee – been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance
Pros – Aspire to do the right thing as part of the DNA of the company. C level leadership are smart and capable. Huge yearly investment inIT, progressive stance on collaboration and social platforms. Bring your own mobile devices encouraged.
Cons – Increasingly centered on East coast operations, marginalized Seattle presence and local leadership. Some east coast offices don't have a culture of collaboration across geographies yet, making it painful while they slowly start to 'get it'.
Advice to Senior Management – Maintain focus on Seattle offices and talent therein, recognize and stem the talent drain as folks see the writing on the wall for the long term viability of the Seattle offices.

Former Employee – worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance as an intern for less than a year
Pros – As a fortune 100 company, interns get to experience what it is like to work in a large and growing company. Along with many knowledgeable employees and various other resources available it provides the opportunity to learn a lot.
Cons – As with most large companies it takes time to get adjusted to company culture and procedure. There's a lot of acronyms to get accustomed to.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance as an intern for less than a year
Pros – * Training
* Competitive Pay
* Mentors
* NIce company environment
Cons – * location (very limited for IT intern/ new hires)
Advice to Senior Management – If you plan on having interns maybe having a plan before they come, so we're not doing just busy work halfway through the program. I learned a lot of valuable lessons, but I felt like I could've been challenged a little bit more.

Former Employee – worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great company, great benefits, pay is good, and development is awesome!
Cons – The company downsizes every two years so either be prepared to relocate or keep an open network for other opportunities. Liberty Mutual is a big organization so often times the satellites offices get dismissed when it comes to growth and opportunities. Boston, MA is the home office so most of the opportunities reside there.
Advice to Senior Management – Management is good and working to become better!

Current Employee – been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Excellent benefits, great pay, nice working conditions, wonderful co-workers
Cons – Brown-nosers seem to, once again, get rewarded. Maybe its a lesson for those of us who don't want to stoop that low, that it is indeed worth stooping!
Advice to Senior Management – Stop rewarding brown-nosers. Continue to keep up with your otherwise professional atmosphere. Thanks for respecting the once-in-a-while two-hour lunches for those of us who never take breaks and work through lunch the rest of the time. Listening to your direct-reports is always a good idea.

Pros – They take care of their employees. Make them feel like a person and not a number like so many other large companies do.
Cons – Time management system is a bit much. Feels like your'e being micromanaged literally all day.
Advice to Senior Management – less micromanagement, more team building events
