    Pros

Pros are definitely going to have to be their incentives. I was fresh out of college when I started but as long as you are good at selling insurance, the sky is the limit. Expect tons of cash bonuses, vacations with a +1 opportunities, give-aways, etc. Another pro is that they will help you reach your goal if you are willing to put in the effort. It's not as cut throat as some companies I've worked for where if you don't make quota one month, you're out!

    Cons

There IS an "I" in Team at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Every man for himself and things can get very, very messy. Sometimes, you even have to watch what information you leave at your desk before you go home because there are some hungry vultures out there that make for great sales representatives. Also, communication with upper management is very weak. If there is an issue and you want to get it resolved, prepared to go through a set of 10+ people for it to even get possibly looked at.

    Pros

Sales and customer service training, opportunities to grow, benefits and pay are good. There is a good work/life balance.

    Cons

Answering phones all day with little face to face customer interaction. Breaks and lunch are on a timed schedule with little flexibility.

    Pros

    Pay and benefits are fair

    Cons

Don't expect to make it much past 55 or suddenly your ineffective. They prey to hire every 3-4 years new recruits, so you are weeded out slowly

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of Six Sigma.

    Pros

The front end pay is great, however it really isn't designed for sales reps to be successful in the long term. You have no ownership of your book of business. Compared to other opportunities in the insurance industry the residual income potential IS NOT THERE! It's a great place to get into the industry and see if it's for you. After about year 3 awards and recognition is very challenging and the constant new business focus starts to ware on you.

    Cons

Horrible residual income, poor training and development, promotions from sales most time come with a big salary cut, they keep track of how many policies you sell as opposed to how much premium you bring in (blinds you to how profitable you are), their life insurance products are extremely over priced but required to keep your job

    Advice to Management

I think a big difference in reviews will heavily depend on the particular office and manager. Having worked in different offices and under different managers it can certainly make or break how you feel about the job.

    Pros

The first few years are GREAT!!! You are making good money and building your business.

    Cons

. Now Liberty is adding too many offices to which agents are fighting for business and internet leads. Also, branch management is being hired from sales postions w/o any formal managment background nor training. I couldnt wait to leave!!!

    Advice to Management

none- will not make a difference.

    Pros

Benefits are very attractive and competitive.

    Cons

Too many obstacles to apply for a different position or better position. HR and management does not give the necessary support to allow you to move around within the company. Managers not friendly or skilled.

    Advice to Management

Please change or improve the process for qualified internal candidacy and give better opportunities for promotions within the departments and company. Poor management skills.

    Pros

good place to gain experience for career in insurance and the health benefits and 401 match are a plus, however, as much as Liberty touts the premise that it does not want employee turnover, their actions say otherwise. Best to utilize this company for experience, then move on to a company which values their employees. Very low percentage of long term sales reps, and this occurs for a reason.

    Cons

management seems to have no basic understanding of sales environment has lack of respect for employees

    Advice to Management

managment needs people with insurance sales backround at helm. Recent restructure made things even more difficult at front line sales. How does a team of non sales leaders begin to understand and lead a sales team?
