    overall pretty good experience

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

    Prosgood pay, flexible while contracting.

Consthis company says they can only keep temp employees for a year and only tell you that a few weeks before the 1 year date pops up, can be boring/frusterating at times

I feel under valued and overwhelmed with work.

    Claims Adjuster (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsIt's a job and nothing more.

ConsEverything! They expect too much for not enough money. You are not treated with respect. Objectives are unrealistic and the constant changes are stressful and ridiculous. Promotions are not merit based but based on whether or not management likes you or you have relatives that work there.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet your heads out of your assets and do things that actually makes sense. Pay more attention to your front line employees and get rid of all the unnecessary supervisors and middle managers who are way over paid nd treat employees like dirt.

Horrible management, no sympathy or help with issues

    Customer Service Representative-Licensed (Former Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsVery competitive pay, excellent training program, great time-off benefits.

ConsYou will feel micromanaged to death. Everything is scheduled down to the minute, and you are penalized if you are a SECOND late. Horrible benefits package considering it is an insurance company. If you are struggling at all with any aspect of the job, the management is not helpful and points it out to fellow team members if you are failing.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave a heart. The new lean processes that they have rolled out can be very beneficial, but employee privacy is threatened when all statistics are on display and personal downfalls discussed AT LENGTH daily. This place makes you feel bad about yourself, and management seems to enjoy it.

In this position, the company treats you as if you are a robot.

    Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsDecent training program, although could use major improvements to make more efficient. You are given a good amount of days off per year and good benefits.

ConsThe company records your every movement. You can't even use the restroom without them knowing and timing you. You are expected to continuously work the whole 8 hours minus one 30 minute lunch break and two 15 minute breaks and they will know if you walk away from your computer for any reason. They give no leniency if you clock in late what-so-ever and you have to clock-in at exact times.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you want your Customer Service Representative to be at your expectation level, then you should come up with an automated system to do it.

    Not a good experience

    Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsGood training in customer service.Good start up pay.Good co workers.Nice building.Nice parking lot and security staff.

ConsEmployee scores are manipulated in order to let go employees instead of laying off.Temp employees are now being implemented in order to cut costs. If you are popular with management regardless of your performance, you will keep this job and even move up if you can stand to stay.

Advice to Senior ManagementHow you treat your employees will inevitably spill over onto your customer base. Good karma does
not exclude corporations in the long run.

    Good Luck

    Customer Service Representative (Former Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsAnyone can work here-you can work in management without a degree and no experience
    whatsoever in the field

ConsHowever, you could be college educated and have a dolt (or a couple of dolts)
    as your management

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you are doing and the company will end up
going in the direction that it deserves to go...

Disappointingly biased, very abundant favoritism and unwarranted critism

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsThe compensation is fair, lighted parking lot and security guard. Ergonomics are important. Friendly workers and a clean bathroom. Only a couple of qualified supervisors.

ConsOnly a couple of qualified supervisors. Alot of unnecessary critism of one's work in evaluating calls. Favoritism shown to certain employees. Supervisors seem to do whatever ie. text, plan vacations, print out itineraries, talk to each other for long lengths of time, play computer games. You try to tell senior management about some issues and nothing gets resolved.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive everyone a fair shake at certain positions and special projects. It's so obvious when you delegate and select certain people that you have a great social repoire with. Employees should be able to feel comfortable and confident with supervisors.

Performance should be based solely on metrics.

    Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

    ProsFair compensation and decent benefits.

ConsPerformance scores done by quality assurance associates are too subjective and yet make up
a large portion of overall performance ratings.Associates are often not seasoned reps and are
biased due to insufficient concrete training.Unfair negative scores on csr evals are non-negotiable
    regardless of what management ascertains.

Holding on to this job is most of the battle.

Advice to Senior ManagementQA reps should have much more experience and time at the job they are evaluating.
Qa reps should be trained as an adjunct to their job, in communication and interpersonal skills,
which hopefully would include a course in objectivity.

Great financial performance in a down economy.

    Manager (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsThe companies diverse offering of P&C insurance through multiple distribution channels in multiple countries has produced strong financial results. The company is making great strides towards providing employees with appropriate technology resources. There is a strong commitment to training and development of employees and a strong corporate culture.

ConsThe company desires change, but is slow to act and changes are poorly communicated. There is definitely a need for senior managers to trust employees with information regarding the changes. Too much focus is on the processes that are changing and not enough on the impact the changes are having on the culture and employees work environment.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe management team has positioned the company very well to remain profitable in a tough economy. There is a need for the company to have more trust in their employees and provide them with pertinent information.

Liberty Mutual-a great company to work for.

Senior Customer Service Representative (Current Employee)
    New Castle, PA

ProsLiberty Mutual is a fortune 100 company that has a promote from within philosphy, and compensates employee's well. The management team is great and respects the employee's.

ConsSince this position is customer service, it is very stressful. We have certain high goals we must adhear to at all times.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe only advise I would give to senior management would be to allow more aux 0 time as our insurace assistance are extreamly backed up, therefore, we(the reps) have to make most of our own call outs. And for us not to have to hold transactions that are waiting for paperwork from a policyholder. For example you can have a rep who is exceeding in all area's, but one because she/he is doing her job properly is not meeting because he/she has to wait for paperwork to come in. Especially when there are the majority of reps that do not even start transactions, but since I do my job "the right way" I get penelized. This needs to change.
