Liberty Mutual offers a competitive benefits and compensation package. The people are awesome to work with. The company is very flexible and offers the best work/life balance I have experienced at any company. There is also plenty of opportunities for one to grow their career.

    Cons

Most challenges are to deal with angry customers with calm voice on phone. Insurance claims department had all frustrated people's call to handle.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Terrific benefits, great people, endless career avenue, strong company values promoting work-life balance and community service. People around you work extremely hard to get the job done, apparent in different departments of the SBU.

    Cons

In my particular department a lot of outdated technology including department software, hardware and processes. Given the nature of the business and industry, a lot of employees tend to become stuck in their roles and complacent with where they are at in their careers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make room in the budget for newer technologies for all SBUs, not necessarily top of the line technology but at least acceptable. Do not let employees become complacent, challenge them indirectly with applicable opportunities that Liberty Mutual has so much of. There are many rock-start managers at Liberty Mutual, gather ideas from these employees.
