I worked at Liberty Mutual Insurance

    Pros

Liberty is very caring about it's employees. They definitely want you to have a positive work/life experience. Great benefits as well.

    Cons

Customers can be a negative towards insurance as a whole. You definitely have to have a thick skin when dealing with people who have a negative connotation towards insurance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I wish they were a bit more lenient with overiding cancellations. Sometimes insurance isn't black and white and Liberty definitely approaches it as such.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and training programs, friendly co- workers. Flexible hours and you pretty much set your own hours/schedule in sales,

    Cons

Long hours, not a good work life balance to make your numbers. Management plays favorites to the top producers, other wise you don't exist.

    No opinion of CEO
  7. Good company that is tarnished by politics some departments heads allow.

    Pros

If you are able to get into the "club," you will be granted opportunities to develop.

    Cons

Managers speak poorly about senior mangers in staff meetings. Reflects poorly on the organization.

HR is horrible and do not investigate situations. You will be blind-sided by this as they will work with a manager to "document" you. They will automatically side with a manager even when you have proof. Also, note that it is very easy to get people to lie and it be documented knowing it will not be looked into. This is not the case in all departments. Where it's been reported: Corporate Communications.

Proceed with caution if you choose to work here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Add a 360 review to get a true understanding of your staff. The face they show their manager and how they treat their team and others can be COMPLETELY different.

I have been working at Liberty Mutual Insurance full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, No weekends typically. Good pay for front end work, otherwise below average. Good people to work with. Trying to establish a work/ life balance.

    Cons

Unrealistic metrics. Bonus is based on metrics, not obtainable. Only insurance company that does not have dedicated First Notice of Loss takers, so you take calls all day long for everything. No claims ownership in a team environment. Handle claims nationwide, not just regionally. East coast offices close and lean upon west coast to back them up, highly unbalanced.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Reassess and realign priorities.
