    Great seasonal company

    Receptionist (Former Employee)
    Kalamazoo, MI

ProsThe Liberty franchise I worked for was a small family owned business. The owner works right along side his staff. Flexible schedule, nice office, great staff and teamwork. Great supplemental income.

ConsOnly seasonal employment for about about 4 months during tax season, but great earning potential during those months.

A great seasonal, second job to make extra income and meet people.

    Income Tax Preparer (Current Employee)
    Winston-Salem, NC

ProsMeeting and getting to know different people. A chance to start and build business relationships. Learning and achieving certification for a new skill as difficult as taxes can be in three months is worth the price of the books.

ConsA seasonal job that ends around April 15th, sooner if the client base goes down.

Advice to Senior ManagementNot much more than finding out new ways to get the people in the door. It is difficult to convince people who use their smartphone for doing taxes, to come into a tax preparation office for confidential, one-on-one conversation.

My experience with Liberty Tax was Awesome!

    Income Tax Preparer/Marketer (Current Employee)
    Grand Rapids, MI

ProsOne of the best things about Liberty Tax is the intense training. I feel like I was really prepared to do taxes after taking their tax course. This is knowledge that you can take with you where ever you go.

ConsSeasonal, and when the office is slow, so are the hours available.

Advice to Senior ManagementMy manager is awesome, and very concerned about her staff

    Great Organization

    Processor (Current Employee)

ProsVery Subtle atmosphere, you can work without any pressure, helping people who really who have no knowledge or very little knowledge about taxes. The Owners I work with are very flexible, under standing.

ConsIt is seasonal, Mostly it is a part time, so less pay. This turns away some good preparers.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeeds little more advertising

    Seasonal No Nonsense Employer

    Tax Preparer (Former Employee)
    Charleston, SC

ProsFree training for current tax processing skills; very busy during the season. Opportunity to provide excellent customer service and work with a variety of people in the community as their tax professional.

ConsLowest pay with highest expectations. You must have pride and confidence in your work and not expect high morale or praise for doing the job right. It is expected, not rewarded or appreciated.

Advice to Senior ManagementPizza is not considered a Bonus.

Good job to get your foot in the door and learn the ropes.

ProsAll the experience you gain with such a large traffic and mass advertisement. Flexible scheduling and gain knowledge of pricing in the area.

ConsManagement can be a bit lacking in skills. Overwork and underpay many employees. A little unorganized.
