I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for more than a year
Pros – --Compensation - The compensation is fair. You can make commission on top of you base, depending on how hard your work, which is pretty great.
--Work Life Balance - The W/L balance is there and very doable at LB. Our standard hours are 10am-6/7pm, and many days will be longer to accomplish what needs to be done for the day.
--Office Culture & Leadership - Both the culture and leadership has made all the difference working her. LB has recruited some really talented and genuine people through their doors and they have always focused on creating an atmosphere that their employees could look forward to each day. The leadership at Lifebooker welcomes questions and wants to help their employees be better at what they do. They expect a lot out of their employees, but hard work is very much recognized and celebrated. Having come from the corporate world where there was less emphasis on office culture and valuing employees for hard work -- it was a breath of fresh air to join the Lifebooker team.
Cons – -- Internal Communication - communication between the various departments can be tricky with so many moving parts.
-- Understaffed - Our accounting and tech teams are understaffed.
Advice to Senior Management – --Ongoing Peer to Peer program - Set up an ongoing peer mentoring program to help new hires grow and get better at their role. Hold quick 1 on 1 meetings with other MS in other cities to discuss challenges etc.

Pros – The people who work here make all the difference. Lifebooker offers the opportunity to work with a special group of people that are incredibly smart, fun-loving, and supportive beyond belief. The friendships and mentorships you will develop at Lifebooker are truly what make the job great. The ability to be compensated very generously based on your work ethic is amazing. The management team really cares about you and your future!!!
Cons – -hours can be long, but come on, you're in Sales , and they are really not that bad
-sometimes stressful
Advice to Senior Management – All in all management is doing a great job to preserve the culture and help there employees grow

Encouraging, enthusiastic, and hardworking staff
Management truly cares about their staff and what is in the best interest of the company as a whole
Goals are challenging but realistic and attainable

Things are constantly changing - you need to be flexible and open-minded

I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for less than a year
Pros – Fun, friendly, entrepreneurial environment
Team atmosphere
Hardworking staff
Promotes from within
Company communicates challenges as well as vision
Cons – I read some of these previous reviews and they don't line up with my ideas (or my co-workers' ideas) about the place I work. This seems like an angry person who just wants to rant. I'm pretty confused because if you ask around, most folks here are happy.
Advice to Senior Management – More company-wide meetings.
More formalized reviews.
All in all I really enjoy working here and would like it to remain a fun and friendly environment.

I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for more than a year
Pros – Easy Work Environment
Not to strict on being a little late
Quiet
Dogs allowed
Allows you to balance work and life pretty easily
Cons – Pay rate is horrendously under market value
Promised Bonuses and Salary reviews are not actually implemented as frequently as they make you believe
You might start at pay that's at market value but you'll be sitting there for a year before anyone realizes the work you have been doing and calls you up for review as opposed to their promised three months
Bonuses are 2-3% of salary at most
Unless you're a manager or someone willing to put in three times the work for half the pay, no one will really care about you
The COO is the daughter of the CEO so make sure you never even try to argue with her despite her obvious lack of managerial skills and experience
Advice to Senior Management – Hire managers that actually are able to keep up with their employees satisfaction. Check that employees are content where they are and that the market value of their skills isn't completely dwarfing your pay

I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for more than a year
Pros – Great co-workers. Intelligent staff. Great Location.
Cons – -Poor morale and increased micromanagement
-Constantly changing goals and initiatives.
-Nobody cares to spend the investors money as if it where to be going out fashion.
-Management is in positions based on seniority and when they joined the company rather than qualifications. You will not make what they promise you so fair warning. They bring in managers who have no experience . They don't reward people who have helped grow the company which is a shame because they preached that at the beginning. Now all of the employees are just a number.
Advice to Senior Management – Promote within.

I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for less than a year
Pros – Dogs, candy, 2 computer screens.
Cons – Mismanagement, middle managers who have no experience, limited bathroom and lunch breaks, limited discussions with co-workers, limited support.
There is a reason the turnover rate here is so high. In my interview I was told the hours were 10-6 when in reality they're 9:30-7 at best and if you leave at 7 (work completed) you are scolded. How you work is dictated to you, you have no say in how you schedule your day to get work completed. If you don't meet seemingly impossible goals you're scheduled for meetings every 2 weeks with management to decided if you can stay or not. No matter how hard you work or how many promotions you bring in it's still not enough.
The pay is not what is promised either. They said they'd give bonuses out that come to an annualized figure of 25-45K but in reality its less than 10k if that. Had I known this coming in I would not have taken the job as it does not meet my financial needs to raise a family in New York City.
Breaks are regulated, almost every time you get up from your desk you're asked by a manager where you're going. Absolutely no personal calls are permitted at work even in an emergency they're stringently questioned.
Interviewee's be ware. Lifebooker is not a pleasant place to work and as a result nearly a dozen on the sales force will be leaving by the new year.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire managers who have managed before or better train the current ones in management. Trust your employees more to manage their time to the extent they are successful. Understand emergencies come up and making a 2minute phone call will help your employee in the long run.

I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for more than a year
Pros – Candy, casual dress code, decent insurance.
Cons – The number one problem at this company is management, from mid-level all the way up to senior level. My manager is fresh out of college with no prior management or sales experience. As other reviewers mentioned, the sales team is terribly micro-managed - be prepared to be constantly questioned on how you structure your day and go through each step of your thought process. All of this however is done over gchat which is awkward. Management is also very catty, I've overheard the Director of Sales make fun of the way team members are dressed or "how pretty they are". Incredibly inappropriate. Also be careful about what you're looking at on your computer as management monitors this as well to make sure you're not tending to any personal needs. For such a small company they've created a pretty complicated hierarchy and expect this to be followed. You can't simply email your manager, you have to cc at least 6 other people to ask a question or make an edit.
Forget about a work/life balance. When I started I was told the hours were 10am-6pm, however the sales team is expected to stay until 7:30 and your manager will definitely hound you on gchat if you leave before this. There also is no lunch break and your manager will monitor how long you go out to take food or coffee, and it better not be more than 20 minutes.
Last, compensation and career opportunities are not as promised and constantly changing. When I started I was told there was "tremendous opportunity to move up", but there hasn't been. A new market was supposed to open this fall but has been put off until an undisclosed time. I was also told I'd receive bonuses, which I haven't. The commission structure has changed three times since I started working here and I make significantly less money now than when I started.
Advice to Senior Management – Trust your employees to be able to manage their time and get the job done. Get proper training so you know how to manage effectively. Giving your employees a better work/life balance would probably make them more effective. Three people have left the company this month alone, that is saying something.

I have been working at Lifebooker

- Excellent work/life balance
- Feels like you're apart of a family
Cons – - No employee discount program
Advice to Senior Management – Continue supporting a motivating meritocracy structure

I have been working at Lifebooker full-time for more than a year
Pros – Super entrepreneurial atmosphere on company-wide and personal levels. Those who prove themselves get promoted (over 3/4 of the sales mangers were promoted from within). Strong support system for salespeople looking to hone their skills (a number of salespeople, myself included went from no sales experience to top performers within 1-3 months)
Other perks:
- relatively short hours by NY standards
- super generous commission scheduled and benefits
- puppies in the office
- comraderie among sales people -- not sharky at all
- awesome coworkers
Cons – - the company is expanding rapidly so naturally there have been growing pains here and there as new departments form and responsibilities shift ( that said, anything that's not working is attended to right away)
Advice to Senior Management – It's awesome to feel like you have the chance to grow based on productivity versus years on a resume!
Keep it up
