    Pros

    The benefits package and perks

    Cons

You are unrecognized for hard work and efforts to improve the organization. This is a company of complacency. If you want to work at a place where things don't get done day after day, then come work here. There are many people working at this company in management and director positions that are not qualified or even have the skill set to manage people. There is almost no Sr. management direction or involvement. And no one wants to "rock the boat". After a few months here, your work and skills stagnate. There is No Career Growth, Crappy Raise and Lots of Nepotism. The President is a really nice guy- Personable and Approachable, but his Sr. Management team sucks and he hasn't done anything about them .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Instead of finger-pointing or telling people what to do, lead by example.

    Cons

to much favoritism going on in Lightpath

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The bosses need to listen to the lower people more as they are to far removed from dealing with customers.

I have been working at Lightpath

    Pros

Based on other jobs the salary seems commesurate with the work requirements. Too many top management changes. Not enough time to allow the restructuring to work.

    Cons

Poor decisions when laying off workers.

I have been working at Lightpath full-time

    Pros

Benefits. Salary. Perks. Job Security. Training.

    Cons

Cliques!! I have to 100% agree with an earlier post, if you are not middle aged, homely and one of the "odd girl" out - turned "cool girl" forget about fitting in. This is the downfall of this place, it really deters professional individuals from wanting to work in an environment like this. I can't say enough about the eye rolling, don't talk to us, don't sit near us attitude rules this building - it's laughable looking back. Considering how much the upper level management let's these few bad seed's get away with is a shame when you look at the productivity that could be increased if coming to work wasn't just a social event for those without a life outside the building! That is the vibe here and it makes the work place very difficult for those who don't want to be yes people to those who need ego stroking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Break up this clique this is a work place not a weight watchers meeting.

    Pros

Great people to work with on the front lines, though only in "your" department.
Great benefits (free cable, phone, internet)

    Cons

    Everyone works in silos.
No real direction by management in terms of career path or growth.
High churn in terms of sales people.
Project Managers are nothing more than admin assistants to handle order followup.
    No accountability for upper management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try skip level meetings to get the real story of the trials and tribulations of the "common" employee.
Step up and provide leadership and take responsibility for the success (never a problem) or failure (never happens) of the company

    I worked at Lightpath

    Pros

Truly had a terrific experience working day to day with great people and support/overlay staff in place. We certainly had a ton of fun.

    Cons

The management direction from the top down completely miss the boat year in and year out. They have saturated the market with their building strategy hiring too many reps all the time and constantly back filling them as they shuttle them in and out, no rep has been at 100% of plan in their first year in some 9 years. We were also limited to where we could sell in the marketplace. They basically sell you about expansion of the network and money invested in the network yet it lacked truth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

i hear recently they may be steering in a better location as this is a 2+ year out review.

I have been working at Lightpath

    Pros

    Salary and benefits are great.

    Cons

Animosity between employees especially at the senior level is terrible. Boss told me before training its a waste of time but I had to go. Many people feel others have positions because of friendships.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be a separate class about how to act around Senior Management. In office affairs between employees and departments make it a rough environment to be in.

I have been working at Lightpath

    Pros

Reliable great products. Pricing is very competitive. Limited areas to service. Sales Compensation is good.

    Cons

Limited products to offer. Limited areas to service. There seems to be no code of conduct practiced by Management. Other AEs can sell into your accounts without penalty. Project Managers are not really project managers, instead they are order takers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management should hold skip level meetings to hear their employees voices. They only get feedback from Management, not from the AEs who are driving the companies success.
