Pros
Management gives recognition to employees
Work-life balance
Great place to professionally develop
A lot of training opportunities
Cons
Demanding work
A lot of hierarchy
Advice to Senior Management
Keep up the great work
Pros
Being associated with mega brand recognitions like Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works, adds a level of prestige to ones career.
Cons
Despite promoting a corporate culture of work-life balance, there is significant pressure to work long hours and "do more with less". There is always that pressure with any company, but it is significant at Limited Brands, especially if there is any aspiration for getting to next.
Advice to Senior Management
Look harder at your internal resources for promotion into leadership roles. A resource proficient in a technology does not make a good manager, but someone who IS interested in management and a leadership role, just might work out better.
Pros
pay is good love the people
Cons
rough hours but love the pay
Advice to Senior Management
love to make it as a regional manager
Pros
Flexible with time off and work hours. Great team of people to work with. Strong and stable company. The pay is great!
Cons
Constantly changing. Can experience change fatigue. Often feel like I don't know what I'm doing because the trends and thinking changes so much. Ability to move up relies heavily on self-promotion and office politics.
Advice to Senior Management
The way promotions are given is a mystery to me. I think there should be a clear path for those who want it. It's not always clear what the paths are.
Pros
You work with some great people - if you're not great at what you do, you won't last here. Thus the people you work with are sharp & good at what they do.
Cons
They work their people hard. Many groups are understaffed, with no budget for adding headcount.
Advice to Senior Management
Communication is key.
Pros
They pay you well that's a given. The brands are strong and leaders in their field so there's the built in benefit with both the customer and future employers...there is a halo effect.
Cons
Work/Life balance is not good. Quality of life living in Columbus is not for everyone...it's a quiet/small town and expensive for what you get in return.
The company lacks in role clarity and ability to move forward effectively. They get mired down in a desire for consensus and alignment....we gotta move here people!
Advice to Senior Management
Live the LimitedWay values...just don't talk about them! Remember the importance of Shadow of the Leader.
Pros
good discount
nice product
flexible schedule
nice people
Cons
there to clean and fold
Advice to Senior Management
hired poor managers
Pros
Professional corporate work environment, nice benefits.
Cons
Not much room for career growth.
Advice to Senior Management
Need to create opportunitites for career growth.
Pros
Great bonuses and compensation level (but raises are minimal)
Respect usually follows hard work
Company usually manages to weather all kinds of storms well and perform to plan
Cons
Outdated departments and corporation model
Top-heavy; senior management rides on the backs of its non-bonus-earning employees
Difficult to get ahead with truly creative work
Super-conservative outlook
Insane spin
No respect for the wish to have a life outside the company
Top management stays too long (15+ years) and fails to remain current
Advice to Senior Management
It would be nice if you actually "walked the talk".
Pros
Room for advancement and career opportunities
Cons
Decisions are made by a very emotional leadership team
Advice to Senior Management
chill out
