Pros
Good vacation benefits and good hours. Immediate management is easy to work with, tuition reimbursement is a great benefit for employees.
Cons
Poor recognition for hard work. Hard workers are often punished by having to take on additional responsibility for no additional pay.
Pros
The ability to change a student's life and give them direction towards a rewarding career in their future. Watching students graduate and be excited about where they are going.
Cons
Expenses were not paid on time.
Upper management was unable to solve the issue for over 6 weeks.
No consistent direction for how job was to be performed
Management did not work with team to direct and assist in completing job duties
Treat everyone like a paycheck.
No concern for employees and their needs only care about the needs of the company. Three people were fired during my 2 month stay with the company for bogus reasons just because they needed to meet a quota.
No funds for marketing materials to be competitive with other schools.
Advice to Senior Management
Corporate should take a serious look at the local campus levels and not just in terms of how many leads they are getting. Local management should set up weekly meetings with new hires and spend time in the field supporting them. In addition, you should really consider how you treat your future employees when you tell them you are going to do something you should really hold to your word.
Pros
It is a job that pays.
Cons
Level of academic integrity is very low.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest in your employees. Stop treating students as a paycheck. Remove students that are caught breaking the rules, like smoking pot on campus.
Pros
You have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students. Students rely on LES to give them a quality education that gives them the tools they need to succeed in the work force.
Cons
The competence of senior level managers is lacking. There are a couple who are doing a great job, and there are some who only have their positions because of seniority. A critical evaluation should be made of employees at all levels. If you are unable to do your job because of incompetence or lack of interest, it should be irrelevant how long you have been with the company.
Advice to Senior Management
Senior management needs to know what is going on in the schools. They should not rely on the information from one manager. It is very easy to hide the real issues, and it appears that Senior Management does not know what questions to ask to find out what's really going on.
