    Pros

The 401k and insurance. Nothing else was worth the time I put into that company. I couldn't wait to get out of there.

    Cons

Everything about that place is a con, starting with their management. I've never worked in a place that cared so little for their employees unless they were gay. I think they are afraid of them.

    Advice to Management

What good would it do? They do it their way and forget about the true workers.

    Pros

At least 40 hours/wk, OT opportunities, could work remotely from home.

    Cons

Company was restructuring so hierarchy was in flux and was difficult to know who was in charge of what at times.

    Pros

Excellent benefits, and an executive leadership team that appears to care about employees. There is a strong commitment to building a diverse workforce and it appears that there is genuine commitment to employee engagement.

    Cons

Bureaucracy, like any larger company they struggle significantly. While there are some business areas that are trying to strive to develop a Nimble and responsive culture, the overall commitment at LFG is lacking. Technology and tools needed to effectively service customers and internal employees and decision making are lacking.

    Pros

Great place to work and excellent benefits. For a large company it is very entrepreneurial. They value process improvements and most roles will have you home by 6:30.

    Cons

Like any large, American insurance company, changes are slow. That same entrepreneurial attitude can hinder internal communications between departments

    Advice to Management

Based on stock performance over the last three years, keep doing what you are doing.

  9. Great place to work and build a career, especially for actuaries

    Pros

Lots of opportunities, especially if you are willing to relocate

    Cons

Actuary heavy leadership can be limiting

    Advice to Management

Not all senior leaders need to be actuaries

    Pros

Location in Greensboro is great. The building is located downtown, so far access to eating and activities.

    Cons

The company likes to start projects and put people in charge who have no idea what they are doing. Your duties may literally change from day to day based on trial and error.

    Advice to Management

It may be beneficial to work kinks out amongst each other before pushing policies out to the employees. That way there is no question of why things are being done one way in some areas and another way with employees in the same area.
