I have been working at Lincoln Property Company

    Pros

Learned a lot about resident relations, management, and running a small business as each property operates independently under the Lincoln umbrella

    Cons

Absolutely no HR department. Extremely, embarrassingly cheap. I have been embarrassed by the penny pinching nature of the company on frequent occasions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop training and support as fast as possible.

I have been working at Lincoln Property Company full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They give you a paycheck, if it were actually managed by people who cared at all about performance rather than playing favorites it might actually create some halfway decent leasing agents who rely on skills and knowledge and use that to help create an environment that both employees and residents can enjoy and feel confident and comfortable in.

    Cons

They are ALL about little high school politics, it's all about not just who you know but how much you suck up to them. If you want to get promoted then you better bring your knee pads or get ready to kiss some butt. You can't bring real issues to management because rather than take constructive criticism they take it personal and make you fear for your job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The Village, Learn how to care about your employees wellbeing and try to actually deal with real issues instead of just always pawning issues off and assuming it's a personal issue. Take care of your leasing agents and managment because they are the ones taking care of your residents and when you have unhappy employees you will have unhappy residents and that is just bad business.

I worked at Lincoln Property Company full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

A lot of employees that have been with the company 10+ and 20+ years, which shows what a good company it is.
They treat their employees fairly and promote from within.

    Cons

Salaries are a bit lower than competitors.
They run things on the lean side - so you do have to work extra hours.

I have been working at Lincoln Property Company

    Pros

Friendly communication between departments & colleagues.
A big enough company to provide opportunity for advancement but you don't get list in the shuffle.
They provide training but aren't overly demanding at every turn for you to be perfect, they are willing to give you guidance.

    Cons

You are expected to complete more work than humanly possible some days. The specific procedures are taken very seriously, sometimes it feels more so than actually doing the overall job.

I have been working at Lincoln Property Company full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The company is very cheap. Budgets stay the same for 10 or more years. Upper management is afraid salaried employees will not work enough hours each week. They are not happy if you do not work more than 40 hours each week. If you work 65 one week, don't even think about only putting in 38 the next, you better get in at least another 40.

    Cons

Working at the corporate headquarters is like playing a game of chess. Politics Department heads do not know what they are doing. They must have dirt on someone in an executive office. They talk about work/life balance but are not willing to offer flexible work schedules. Upper management will hold back good employees because they value the job they are doing, rather than promoting.

    Pros

It's a large company, there is potential to grow and there is job stability.

    Cons

The benefits are pretty terrible, the pay does not match the work load. There is a clique with the higher ups, if you are not part of that, prepare to be completely excluded. Also, the whole culture is very secretive, you never really know what is going on.

I worked at Lincoln Property Company full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Its a paycheck if you are willing to be paid below industry standards.Flexible hours, but only for friends,no support from management what so ever!

    Cons

You have to supply tools and training for your superviser who will break your power tools and say i would replace them but we only hired you temperary even though you applied for full time permanent positions only.Your supervisor will make racist slurs daily, pick and choose wich residents are provided with maintenance, and let you know there is no hr department or any support for you because they simply dont care about you.Even after i left the lead maintenance still called to ask me how to make repairs until i had to block his number.Seriously im not exaggerating at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take care of your residents before they call the health department and report your substandard conditions. Also value the employees who work hard for you instead of only the ones who are friends of the pms or you are at serious risk of fair housing violations, health code violations, labor law violations!
