I have been working at LinkedIn full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Phenomenal balance between "big company" benefits (insurance, 401k match, stock purchase program, food, etc) and "small company" mobility.

I love being at a place that addresses its core values and tenants on a daily basis.

Jeff Weiner is a visionary leader.

New emerging divisions (Sales and Marketing Solutions) have enormous growth potential.

I started my career at Google before working at several startups after which I joined Linkedin. The people here are, in my opinion, of a much higher personal caliber than those of Google. An enormous part of why I love working at Linkedin is the people, and it's clear a huge emphasis is placed on cultural fit during the hiring process.

    Cons

I love the "tour of duty" concept, but it does not appear to have carried over to the sales org.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay humble, continue to hire awesome people who are great cultural fits.

    Incredible Intern Experience

I have been working at LinkedIn as an intern

    Pros

This was my first technical summer internship in the industry, and I felt like I had just the right amount of mentorship and responsibilities to really grow and blossom throughout the internship! Compensation was very competitive (on the higher end) compared to most other companies. LinkedIn really prioritizes and gives a lot of love and attention to the internship class - there are a lot of social activities, and managers are really good at giving you high visibility work when possible!

    Cons

Some messiness on the HR backend sometimes - misspelling names, misplacing things, etc. but nothing that stands out too much. Product vision is pretty incredible, but the product itself is still (in my opinion), a work-in-progress. It isn't something (as an employed person that's satisfied with their job) you would necessarily use day-to-day; so it can be hard to engage with the product that you're building (to eat your own dog food, as most companies like to say).

I have been working at LinkedIn full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The perks, benefits and push to be better really makes this company different.

    Cons

Just like other companies, politics is an issue and a barricade to do better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay transparent and open with all employees. Please enforce a metric system for performance as there seems to be a number of employees who don't contribute.

I have been working at LinkedIn (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The company's high performance and high integrity culture is pervasive. We get a ton done while reaching for a mission that has a fundamental impact on the world. People are excellent, and while a lot is expected of you, you are given numerous opportunities to transform your career. Not sure I'll ever find a better employer.

    Cons

We work hard, sometimes too hard, but generally it's good work so no complaints.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You've navigated the challenges of growth from hundreds to thousands... dont lose track of those principles as we grow to the next level. Keep LinkedIn special.

I worked at LinkedIn full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

All the perks of working for a tech company...free food, good benefits, good work life balance. Really great people working there

    Cons

Poor planning of territories and sales forecasting. Imagining that there was more of an opportunity in places that it didn't exist. This only recently happened and adjustments to headcount were made to right the ship. Otherwise a pretty great place to make money. Who doesn't buy LinkedIn in the talent space? no one!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep a tight pulse on the changing markets people sell into. Create goals that are attainable and not unrealistic. The attendees to club were way lopsided because the quotas were messed up.

    I worked at LinkedIn

    Pros

Typical Pros: food, office, speakers, talented executives, clear priorities from CEO.

    Cons

There is a major disconnect between what the leaders preach and what managers practice. My time was not "transformational" nor was it for anyone in my department. Also, lots of dogma.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on providing training and exposure to entry level employers
