I have been working at Linn Energy full-time

    Pros

Exciting at times with all of the acquisitions, fast growing company, great culture (other than IT department), and good (standard O&G) benefits. They even give every single employee company stock, which pays around a 10% annual dividend even on unvested shares.

    Cons

Can be overwhelming and lots of stop and go with all the acquisitions. The politics in the IT organization seem to cause a lot of problems throughout the organization. IT department needs a serious shake up...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue divesting the high-capital intensive assets for the low-capital, slow-declining assets in order to pump out that 10% annual dividend.

    Pros

Great Benefits, competitive package, great people to work with and flexible hours.

    Cons

Do not promote internally, Favoritism, growing too fast and cannot cope up with employee training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep those who matter happy - your employees. Consumed with acquisitions, the company has moved away and lost focus from the smaller things.

    Pros

The company has amazing benefits and compensation. It is also full of great people from senior management all the way down to the staff.

    Cons

The company moves very quickly and it sometimes feels like there isn't time to fully get through things and finalize all your documents before you move on to the next item.

It pays standard oil company fair. Upper management has built a stable company.

    Cons

No freedom or flexibility. Corporate automatons will do well. Police state.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on worker productivity not the other stuff.

I worked at Linn Energy as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

I had an on campus interview for an engineering intern position at my school in the fall of 2012. The company was very open, diverse, and professional. The pay is great and they have several locations around the country. Also they have alot of room for growth!

    Cons

Not to many negatives, I wish they gave more time to consider their offer, but other than that AMAZING!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please start doing on campus information session for students in addition to their job fairs.

I have been working at Linn Energy (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some great people to work with, all to go towards a common goal. If your personal career goals fall in line with managements wishes, you can get a lot of financial support. Compensation is middling to decent, and they try to give some work/family balance.

    Cons

While the coworkers are great and diversified, management all came from the same place and have the same ideas. Outside or divergent ideas are not tolerated or supported unless they thought of them, which can be stifling from a creative aspect, or feeling like you have a say.
