    Pros

Constructive friendly environment. Good development support. Generous perks. Great brands with innovative approach. All round a great FMCG company to work for

    Cons

The beer business makes the money but is a shrinking business with declining sales (despite being the largest player). This means there are constant cost and head count pressures.

    Advice to Management

Less focus on HR systems and more focus on targeted valued team member development. More communications about salary bands would be helpful. Improve the IT systems.

    Pros

Great brands, good strategy, forward thinking

    Cons

Slow decision makers, restructure after restructure, culture not as it seems

    Advice to Management

Lion prides itself on its engaged culture and I joined thinking I would see this in action. In reality its not as it seems, hyper competitive, oppositional behaviour is rife. Such as shame because it really could be great.

    Pros

Fun culture lots of opportunities. Strong focus on individual and team development.

    Cons

Organisation struggles with understanding when there is a need to change. The past is not always the best indicator!

    Advice to Management

Look outside the organisation for good ideas as well as in the mirror.

    Pros

You work until the job is done, not to set hours, so if there is less work you finish early but you don't mind staying later if things get busy.

    Cons

Long hours, my job required working a number of days in a row which became tedious.

    Pros

Many opportunities to learn and practice new skills

    Cons

I have seen cases of bias never seen in other company. The excessive flat organisation give too much power to team leaders

    Advice to Management

Avoid temptations to excessive members with few team leaders

    Pros

    - the culture!! - the people are awesome. everyone is generally willing to help out - structured development opportunities and training courses to develop your skills are abundant - relatively flat structure allows almost anybody in the organisation to contribute to its success - opportunities to move around within your function as well as across functions for the right people help develop breadth of experience and skills - strong emphasis on sociability aided by the in-house bars - great work life balance with the onsite gym and in-house personal trainer

    Cons

    - the culture! whilst it may sound counter intuitive because i've also said this is a pro, people need to understand that there is a very strong and distinct culture at lion. internally people sometimes even refer to it as a cult and this may be quite an experience for people if they've grown accustomed to different cultures at other companies. give it time though and you'll soon find yourself getting more comfortable and ultimately embracing it - the flat structure might mean several rotations on the same level. this in itself isn't a problem because there will always be new things to learn and skills to develop however it might be frustrating for someone who measures their career progression by the title in front of their name

    Advice to Management

keep up the good work. never lose sight of the fact that your employees are assets and ambassadors of your brands

    Pros

Opportunities to move around constantly, great work/life balance, excellent review process, free beer, amazing leaders to learn from.

    Cons

Pay not as great as elsewhere (in Finance at least) - however, I would take less pay for the perks.
