    Pros

    - Filled with energetic, easy to work with people
    - Laidback culture
    - Great lunch and learns for interns to get to see big Lionsgate execs give talks
    - Great food trucks in the immediate area

    Cons

    - Could be better at facilitating friendships among workers from other departments
    - Restaurant in the office is too expensive

    Advice to Management

I don't have a whole lot of advice to give the management, honestly. As far as I could tell, getting in touch with management isn't difficult, as the company isn't very big, which is a great thing.

I have been working at Lionsgate

    Pros

    smaller studio, more agile, growing

    Cons

very old-school Hollywood structure, very top-down management style, level of talent is pretty low overall due to low salaries

Bi-Polar Company...often fun and laid back until stressed executives go into panic mode. Overall...mostly good people.

    Pros

Mostly good people. Fun, jovial atmosphere. Relaxed dress code. Free movies and early screenings. Prestigious name for resume. Good location in Santa Monica...away from craziness of downtown Century City / Hollywood.

    Cons

Poor work / life balance. Executives have little empathy for others' time, and even if you're getting off before 7pm, you're often expected to remain attached to your cell phone and email until midnight. Many people don't understand the communication priority hierarchy of whether to email / text / or call based on how urgent something is and will criticize you for not responding to an email they sent at 8pm until the next morning. And then others just don't understand that some things aren't really that urgent and will call you after work hours for something that could have waited until the morning. Hiring / promotions primarily based on nepotism, and if your boss isn't willing to actively engage HR, you better go around them straight to the hiring department because HR kisses the ring and clocks out at 6pm while half the company works until 7-9pm. Some tax and finance people are especially buried in work and often work until midnight. HR hiring managers are more concerned with getting executives' relatives and friends into positions rather than helping loyal employees promote.

    Advice to Management

We make movies and television...ENTERTAINMENT...we are not running a trauma center or some other urgent 24 hour service. Your bonuses are larger than a lot of assistants' and coordinators' annual salaries. Please have some empathy for our lives and meager salaries.

    Pros

well known company, free screenings for employees, bagel fridays once a month, very casual attire, very young employee population so it feels fresh, stock is awarded to employees

    Cons

pay is awful, there's no formal way to submit complaints, lazy and stupid coworkers make more for doing less, supervisors play favorites, executives don't care about the rank and file, company plays favorites and only invites select people to attend premieres, old office building, no holiday bonus, only one or two female executives, no minority executives

    Advice to Management

double everyone's salaries director and down, invite everyone to premieres, stop keeping overpaid and unqualified employees just because they're nice, hire more diverse leadership

    Pros

Cool perks (like their rideshare system, where you get free movie tickets if you carpool with coworkers to work). Very casual environment. Everyone is super friendly and the company promotes a social environment. There are also unlimited sick days and you get winter break in December.

    Cons

Pay is terrible in relationship to the amount of work that they expect you to do. They don't often (if ever) promote within and climbing up is a long ways to go.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to your staff and push to move them up the ladder if you want the company to succeed. Constantly letting people go or not fighting for them to stay will only endanger the company towards an unstable work force.

    Pros

-A very relaxed, friendly company that is trying to gear it's company culture towards the youth.
-Paid Healthplan, you pay virtually nothing except copay for medical insurance
-Lots of paid vacation days and half days throughout the year
-Company facilitates career change within the company
-HR department is amazing. Very responsive and works hard with the little resources they have.

    Cons

-Salary levels are about 10K-20K under market value
-High turnover rate of entry level due to low pay and stubborn senior management
-Lack of management or process innovation
    -Bad communication and technology integration
-There use to be more perks, but as the company grows so do the events and perks.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more and implement better processes

    Pros

Great company to get your feet wet. No one actually wants a career at Lionsgate. Some friendly co-workers who aren't ego-driven. Great place to move up the ranks with a heightened job title but good luck knowing anything about that job at another studio.

    Cons

Long hours, after a Summit Entertainment merge the HR still can't figure out how to create a better office environment with employees satisfaction. Minimal pay, long hours, heightened titles with no knowledge of actual job performance. Office politics.

    Advice to Management

    Start cleaning house.

    Pros

Great environment to learn, or get access to executive management that you would likely never access to at a large studio

    Cons

The culture is absolutly awful. Overinflated titles and egos. B-level talent managment tends to hire c-level talent subordiantes in an effort to make themselves seem intellegent.

    Advice to Management

    Fire everyone. Start from scratch.

    Pros

I loved the people I worked with. Upper management was really friendly and willing to teach you. I always felt comfortable going in to ask questions. Very fun atmosphere with weekly showings of upcoming movies.

    Cons

It was hard to get to know interns/employees from other departments.
