I worked at Lionsgate as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Everyone goes out of their way to help interns, they aren't looked down on. Lots of perks.

    Cons

As an intern you don't get paid, which is to be expected.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More intern mixers.

I have been working at Lionsgate full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

They almost always promote from within, so there's continuous opportunity for vertical movement. Working in the film business can be fun; you can go to free movie screenings. Also, you learn a lot. The relatively smaller staff gives you the change to take on new responsibilities, so it's a great place to learn.

    Cons

Since there is a smaller staff, the opportunity to learn a lot is tempered by the volume of work assigned to one person. More responsibility means more volume and higher expectations

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to cater your management style to the personality or demeanor of your direct reports. Yelling is effective for some people, others not so much.

    Great company, poor middle management

I have been working at Lionsgate

    Pros

Winter break, free health, dental, vision, nice size company, company mixers

    Cons

Analysts who work long hours for show, no work life balance, too many VPs who do not know how to manage, managers who do not get to manage, lower pay, HR that thinks everyone's replaceable

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do not value the number of hours worked. It doesn't always mean they are working. Put emphasis on work life balance. Pay better to keep good talent

I have been working at Lionsgate full-time

    Pros

The success of a studio with the feel of a smaller company. Good benefits, special events for employees, accessibility to upper management. Employees don't get lost in the shuffle.

    Cons

Lower than average pay compared to other studios.

I have been working at Lionsgate full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Winter break, fun small perks of working for entertainment

    Cons

Working long hours is a cultural thing. No one really needs to work as much as they do. A lot of time wasting here to appear like you are working.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees instead of acting like they are replaceable. Pay them a fair rate.

I have been working at Lionsgate as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The staff is amazing. All are willing to bend over backwards to help you learn any and all aspects of the company. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere that is extremely efficient but it feels like everyone is your friend and not just co-worker.

    Cons

The only con is long hours at the office and off clock hours. However, the work that you are doing is very interesting so if you are interested in what their company does you will actually enjoy the long hours.
