    Pros

All employees get along with each other very well. They pay pretty good too!

    Cons

Sometimes managment does not think about your personal life. They just want work done.

    Pros

You get to be out on your own seeing new places and interacting with customers. You get to bring home a pay check every 2 weeks. Not really a pro.

    Cons

There are too many cons for me to list on here so I'll just pick the most important. The management will lie lie lie all the time. They will also make it a negative work environment and that leads to employees not getting along. Management (Dean) comes to depots and talks about other employees and management behind their back, leaving you to wonder what they say about you (very unprofessional). Always sugar coating every little thing there is to sugar coat. Also they like to get employees against each other and that leads to a hostile work environment at times.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to keep a closer eye on what goes on at all the depots company wide. You let supervisors and other management fool you with their lies while they are running off several great employees (4 in three months). Stop all the lying and start being honest with employees.

    Pros

Decent starting salary before you realize it's nowhere near enough.

    Cons

Where to start? You have to drive your own car to all of these customers and take their orders, some of which can be as far as 2 hours from you...and the company does not pay for your gas at all. Or the wear and tear on your car. You have to attend a bi-weekly meeting (which is completely worthless), and a meeting every 3 months all the way up in Warren Michigan, which the company of course does not compensate you for having to drive to. The managers will very berate you every chance hey get, and did I mention that this job is 100% commission based? Stay Away.

    Advice to Management

Actually start paying your salesman money for mileage so they can actually afford to work here!

    Pros

Clean office, good hours, unless you're salary, then you're worked like a dog. Oh and not paid overtime for it either.

    Cons

Over-working certain employees while others are allowed to be completely lazy on a daily basis. Management knows nothing about what the people under them do, so they are unhelpful in almost all situations. You have to fend for yourself on top of being harassed about things that have nothing to do with your job or the company. HR is even worse because they do absolutely nothing about it because they are afraid of stepping on people's toes. No leadership, everything is done backwards so you are never being proactive you are only constantly putting out fires and chasing your tails.

    Advice to Management

Learn what your employees do everyday, be more helpful, more involved. Split up the workload fairly, so certain employees are not extremely over worked while others do about an hours work the entire day. Care about the job and what's getting done/what's not getting done instead of what people look like and office gossip!

    Pros

Relaxed start time. Great vendors and brokers. Nice people working in subordinate roles.

    Cons

Terrible managers. Cliquish. Expected non-paid overtime. You can work till 9 PM without anyone acknowledging it. It's like a caste system. Lots of managers there have no formal education. They will fire you for trying to hold to your ethical standards.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the cliques. Fire the managers that find good employees to be a threat. Encourage discussion and comraderie. Hire more support staff. Respect employees that challenge bad decisions.

    Pros

You have decent hours, I guess. No weekends unless there is a holiday in which case you will work Saturday to make up for the day off.

    Cons

The trailers are loaded poorly. Packages are damaged by being jammed into the trucks. Limited space. Poor pallet jacks conditions.

    Advice to Management

Make some space in the trailer. Lipari's motto is "We don't like air." Which means no space in the trailers and when things are loaded wrong it's difficult to work, at least for the first two stops.

    Pros

Very Experienced and intelligent workforce. Company is not afraid to invest in the latest technology. It is an acceptable place to work if you do not have an education.

    Cons

Lack of vacation time, and employees are expected to be available for customers 7 days a week. Scare tactics implemented by management, changes in commission structures are regular. With this being route based sales it is common to have accounts taken from you and given to sales reps earning less, almost a socialistic view of sales territories. The company does not pay for employee cell phones and provides absolute minimal car allowances even though these are required for the job.

    Advice to Management

Changing commission structure is one of the worst things management can do to a sales force. Treat your employees well, and you will experience much greater productivity than if you try to motivate with scare tactics. Mergers and acquisitions are not always the best way to grow a business, and rarely are they they most profitable.
