    Pros

Great management and good people. a fun place to work with an entreprenerial spirit and good pay and benefits.

    Cons

There really aren't many cons to working at Litle. I had a subpar manager but that person was removed and things got much better.

    Coming down to Vantiv Standard

    Pros

Litle has a true Agile development environment. Even with 50+ developers, we release new kits into production every month. The HR staff at Litle try hard and do a bunch of little things to make you feel wanted. Management at Litle is caring and extremely competent

    Cons

The company is being managed remotely from Vantiv in Cincinatti. Coming down to their level of benefits and pay schedule, we are receiving an effective pay cut this year and many of us are likely to take another take-home pay cut next year. XKCD comics on the walls are being replaced with Dilbert comics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Litle Management already knows what to do, but aren't being allowed to. Vantiv, standardizing compensation across the board is telling Litle veterans, the ones who embody the culture you wanted when you bought this company, that you don't want us here.

    Pros

Not a very good place to work, not much positive to say... Free coffee.

    Cons

Litle has been purchased by a Large Bank. It has the brand "Vantiv", it is backed by 5th 3rd bank. Since being taken over, it has not been pretty. Benifit costs for employees have DOUBLED! Vantiv management has also done very troubling things, like calling an entire group to a meeting, telling them that jobs are safe wont be touched, then laying them all off 2 weeks later. Vantiv managers remind me of used car salesemen, not to be trusted. Bonus plan is also a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find some focus and direction and stop lying to your employees and treating them like cattle.

Come here to be a team engineer who learns and owns.

    Pros

Pair programming - yes some people complain that it is not for all personalities - if you are humble and willing to learn, you will learn a lot and contribute immensely. You'll be checking in production code in less than a week.

Engineering managers are quite simply the best I have ever worked with. They are extremely good at balancing work/life, assigning priorities and taking engineer goals into account while managing them.

Engineer ownership is extremely high. All engineers will be involved 100% from concept to production for the project they work on and one is able/expected to make product changing suggestions and mission critical decisions.

Flexibility is fantastic. If you are an all star performer and work out logistics with your manager/pair, then nobody will bat an eyelid if u need to leave early to pick up the kids or work an afternoon remotely because you have a delivery.

Great medical benefits - no deductible is unheard of these days.

    Cons

Use it or lose it vacation - many managers allow you to privately roll some time over.

The recent acquisition may tighten up some of the flexibility.

Not for everyone - if you cannot work with other people then you will fail fast with pair programming.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Resist picking up big company bureaucracy that might come along with the acquisition. Try to keep the current top notch medical benefits.

    Outstanding place to work

    Pros

The company really values its employees, more than any other place I've worked. The work/life balance is respected and valued here and that is evident by the smiles in the hallways. Don't get me wrong - hard work is also valued, but if you have family or personal obligations, no one ever blinks an eye. Do your work, get it done, be excellent, and you can work flexible hours and even work from home a day or two a week. Obviously this depends on the department you work in but this is true for most parts of the company. Again, work/life balance highly respected and valued.

    Cons

The building is a little too 1980's corporate america, but that's about it. Parking is ample, location is pretty good even for those living in or close to the city.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

People really love bagel Thursdays, great for mixing it up with other departments and personalities, but maybe some other options beyond bagels, like fruit? That's all!

    Pros

Excellent work/life balance. Very good non-monetary benefits. The owners really do care about their employees and try to provide an excellent work environment. High degree of understanding that employees have a life outside of work. Good company, no layoffs or downsizing through 2009 and 2010.

    Cons

Salary could be better. Accountability sometimes lacking. Too many silos, there's isn't an operations department coordinating effort.

    Pros

Highly collaborative environment with a great team. Lots of exciting and hard problems to solve, with huge market opportunities. Good work life balance. People are incredibly nice. Very well respected company.

    Cons

Salary is below the market rates for some positions, even for widely recognized top performers. Internal communication issues need work, though are on the right path.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay better; if you want to fill the ranks of the company with above average/top notch talent, you need to pay above average/top notch salaries.
